Nice pairing Taylor 👍

A Byro by Mathieu Callejon and a GEC arrived by surprise this morning, delicate attention of a friend that I thank. 🙏😊
Have a nice day :)

I really admire both the Byro, and today’ maple burl, Yann.

Starting the day off with this 15. Plan on taking the boat out this afternoon fishing once the weather clears a bit. Most likely there will be something else in my pocket for my typical precarious balancing knife photo on the edge of the boat:)View attachment 1864806
Well, you had plans, but at least I don’t have to cringe seeing your knife teetering on the gunwale!

One thing I noticed about this AW&S Barlow I posted is that the A. WRIGHT tang stamp does not include "& SON LTD" as found on most all others from Wright that I've seen
Not sure what significance that might have on placing a date of manufacture on this Barlow but just found it interesting
I've had the knife for a while now, purchased before I joined BF, from a mom and pop knife store in Maryland
The folks there were retiring and selling off their inventory from decades in the business

EDIT: I'm not a cow worshiper, but Holy Cow !!! ... 92 out there right now and FEELS LIKE 106 !!!!

Weather reporters are drama queens, so they invented the “feels like”.

... except for the bolster which is QUITE a bit larger than you would find on a barehead jack or either of those jacks you just posted.
Call it what you will. Not sure what A. Wright calls it. Barlow? Barehead Jack? Something else?

EDIT: Just looked the A.Wright & Son pattern up on a U.K. site ... BARLOW ... now you know :)
And that's a nice Lamb Foot you got there ... not LambSfoot :D
For over a hundred years, whenever those knives had a blade etch/stamp by a cutler who handmade the knife, the etch has stated "Real Lamb Foot" (or Real Lambfoot)
Never Real Lambsfoot for sure. At best, Lambsfoot is a slang term for the Lamb Foot knife. At worst, misinformation
The etch on my Taylor’s Eye Witness concurs.
Now I want to go for a walk in the woods.

I don't know that I ever had black raspberries 🤔 Sounds good View attachment 1865148
These are their cousin, wild blackberries. Or at least I think they're blackberries.

Yeah, those sure look like blackberries...
I have both. The wild black raspberries always start ripening on 4th of July weekend9475931E-4768-4E2A-9056-62E23D8520CB.jpeg
The blackberries not til August. They look like this now...DC799384-361E-48B0-904B-25A588250E1D.jpeg

Here are the leaflets. Blk rasp on the left, blk berries on the right. The two lower leaves are separate on blackberries, while on black raspberries they are part of the other leaves.8D1B5FF0-C64A-42C0-8F1A-99041F4CF1D8.jpeg

Today, it’s the old Schrade 804 that HalfStop gave me.D662F951-192C-4769-9D5F-40CBDBFE5702.jpeg

Have a great Saturday!

Thanks for the information. That is a rather fine example of a schrade whittler.

Thank you. The Byro is really my usual knife. But the Greg Picard is also very nice, it fits perfectly and is ideal for barbecues with large pieces of meat or homemade charcuterie terrines to spread on large slices of country bread 😊

Same old same old, the 110 and the case 75 I dyed, now with a year of pocket wear on the dye. Nearly 2.5 years carry with only occasional departures. And the 684 Buck will be close now that I finally made a better sheath. I often carry the buck hither and thither around the farm in my back pocket. The new sheath though will give some belt time....displacing the 110. Leatherman original of course but he’s shy today.

Thank you!
I am a fount of useless information. Or should I say unformation...
I also offer free advice, which is worth every
penny charged.
Makes for a simple refund policy.

I enjoy learning about any part of the natural world. I forgot to mention, our blackberries are already starting to come in. The center one always gets back first (do you know why?). Those are already ripe and the rest are nearly read.
