Finally made it out again today

Wish I could go fishing. Was stationed in El Paso 8 years ago. Met my wife and stayed here, but knew hunting deer and fishing were all but dead. I make it up to Wisconsin once during deer season and once in the spring to get my fix. Very cool picture.

Finally I decided to take some other tools too on my holiday, because I remembered a project I had promised myself to do. I received this Mora carving knife as a present on my 60-year party. I made this spoon for a friend who gave me the knife, he's a school headmaster. As I'm also a kind of teacher I made him a scoop to pour knowledge to the heads of the teenagers. Tools used in this project were saw, carving knife, Kullervo-puukko by Veikko Hakkarainen and some sandpaper. Finished with olive oil. I think the wood is alder, dried for I don't know how long under the cottage. It succed oil like a sponge. The Kullervo is my best whittling knife, takes an amazing edge and the handle is very comfy.

Have a peaceful Sunday folks!
Headed to my granddaughter's 3rd birthday party today. I'll have my new Boker Prime in my pocket for possible present opening, sandwich slicing, apple peeling etc. etc....

These old posts show that I'm just a geezer living in the past, but I guess most of us do a fair amount of that here in the traditional subforum. ;)

This little scamper was hard to find. It is my favorite stockman configuration, California Clip, Sheep, and Punch.
Nice slender profile on that punch stockman, LT!:thumbsup::cool:

As a "canoesseur", I'm compelled to comment on the cavalcade of captivating canoes!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I totally agree with Dadpool Dadpool on some of the commendable characteristics of canoes.
B BrotherJim 's I*XL stag canoe can certainly "glide", and the black canoe Centermass Centermass posted is sheer elegance!
My replacement RR Canoe arrived (much better!), so I've been carrying it alongside my S&M #99 Scout today. :) The Canoe is such a lovely pocketable pattern, with its rounded contours, narrow ends, and sunk joints.

That’s a cool hobo knife, GT!
Thanks, Barrett. :) I haven't tried it out much yet, and regret not taking it with me on our 10-day trip to Minnesota, where I could have put it through its paces eating hotel breakfasts and various pub and restaurant dinners. I know my Ka-bar is higher quality than this Lake & Trail model I picked up for under $10 from a sporting goods aisle endcap right next to the cheese case while buying groceries in May. It's really not bad, except for the rather important fact that the utensils can't be separated - no provision for taking it apart!

Splendid photos of some new and old classics, sir; you sure know how to "shoot a knife"!:cool::thumbsup:
How are you liking the Pioneer with scissors?

I have a visitation to go to this afternoon for a good friend. I'm going to miss him a lot :(
Dave was always fun to be around. He was such a quick wit.
I think I'll carry this old Pal to see another old pal off.

Belated sympathy on your friend's passing, Mike; glad you have happy memories to help you get through the loss.

I wish my middle name was Danger (rather than Arthur)! 😁👍
I can see why you might desire such a dashing middle moniker, Jack. But your initials JAB certainly have some swagger and aggression to them! 🤓:cool:

Thanks! I was so fortunate to find this one when I did. They had two at the counter and I should’ve bought them both! My wife was with me and got it for me for Father’s Day in 2020.
Superb knife, Jon!:cool::thumbsup: I have that same model, and mine is the only Case knife I've bought at an actual store. I intentionally stopped at a hardware store about 200 miles from home when we went on vacation because I knew it was a Case Master Dealer, and I wanted to be able to pick out a sawcut Barlow whose coloring appealed to me. But it turned out that they only had one left in the store! But it's pretty close to what I hoped for.

I’ve been kinda absent here lately. I’m on a trip with the family celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary. I brought a couple SAKs along for the trip.

I saw this guy and thought of Todd.

Congrats on the anniversary, and thanks for sharing some pics of your Polynesian Paradise!:cool::cool:

Texas BBQ doesn't need sauce.

Just sayin' ;)
FOOD FIGHT!!! 😁😁

Headed out of town for a few days with the lovely Mrs. Bigfish. 😊View attachment 1867789
I hope you (both) had a great trip, Todd!:thumbsup::cool:

After playing Lumberjack yesterday - wellllllllll watching Lumberjacks it gave me the idea to carry this Remington Lumberjack (Moose) today. It'll be a handy knife to have in my pocket when we go to town later to run some errands.

It goes without saying but I'll say it anyway. Lunch at the Wagon Wheel is at the top of the list of stops we will make.
That round-bolstered moose is a real looker, ED!:thumbsup::cool:

More Case chestnut CV for me. Really enjoying carrying this one the last couple of weeks, picked up off the Exchange here 😁

Glorious knife!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Chestnut jigged bone is probably my favorite Case handle material.

...
Have a great week everyone :) Starting mine with my 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot and a Case Penknife

You ain't fooling me Mr. Jack ! That is ketchup. :p
Kind of hilarious though. 🤣
I guess what someone sees depends on the beholder, but, the more I look at those covers, the more it looks like a Wolverine (like Predator Wolverine  ) peering out the handle of your lamb.
You better get to guarding all your lambs closer, is what I thought ! ;)☺️
Great photo of Lucy, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:
Rob see what he sees in knife handles (and watermelon), but I've always seen Spielberg's ET peering at me from that left end of your knife in the preceding photo.
