Thank you ToddThat’s a great pairing Jack.![]()
Nice work, it's a good-looking knifeHad to do a little work on this one to get the blade centered and the play out. It’s centered and solid now but maybe a little tight. Going to carry it today and see if I can work it some and loosen it up a bit.

Thanks for the chestnut bone comment, Bart.
"Auspicious" is supposed to be a positive adjective, meaning something similar to "favorable" or "promising". But your comment made me look up where the word actually came from. Turns out it's derived from a couple of Latin words that mean "looking at birds"; in olden days there were "fortune-tellers" who would base their predictions on what they saw in the flight/behavior of birds. I guess "auspicious knife" literally means something like "the bird-watching hotshot fortune-tellers predict good things for that knife".

I remember coming out of a meeting where the new word, "stakeholder" was used several times. My good friend and fellow engineer, Gene, drily commented, "I thought a stakeholder was an assistant vampire killer."If you take notes, maybe you can entertain us with some of the current corporate buzzwords.![]()
Thank you, GT.
I had the square corners on my GEC #76 rounded off, and they are now quite comfortable... you might try that.

Excellent choice
Happy Anniversary! Will probably mix it up tomorrow, but still this pair today. Been a fun few days of visiting with my parents at their cabin - golf, hikes, and lots of food, but we’re headed home today.

That’s funny you say that Jeremy. I was just sitting here thinking the same thing. I’ve done “cosmetic” mods on several of my knives and “making it your own” really does enhance the enjoyment of carrying them. That is a great Boker you got there Todd. Hopefully the work you put into it makes it satisfying to carry.
So true!Happy Friday everyone. Yesterday’s Dilbert was too funny not to share today.

I’m enjoying this German made Canadian Belt Knife. It’s on a dangler sheat on my belt, and tucked into my pocket. I have more tomatoes to trellis at my friend’s farm, and while holding twine tight in one hand, it’s much faster . View attachment 1884018

Thanks, John. Hopefully one day it will have a nice pocket worn look. The bone on your Eureka keeps looking better and better, Bart.![]()
Thanks, Todd.I know what you mean when you say “regular Eureka,” but there is nothing regular about that one!![]()
I knew it was a compliment, Gary. I was just messing around. Although I didn’t know the history of the word. Interesting and kinda odd. Thanks for the chestnut bone comment, Bart.

Thanks, Jeff. For some reason plants are more of a mystery to me than animals. Thanks very much, Bart, but you grow MEAT! It’s farmers and ranchers making a living growing food that have the real skills.
I love seeing your Boker Barlow collection, Todd. Glad you were able to get that one tuned upHad to do a little work on this one to get the blade centered and the play out. It’s centered and solid now but maybe a little tight. Going to carry it today and see if I can work it some and loosen it up a bit.
