You are correct GaryJohn, Todd, Greg, Jon, Bart, & Jeff, thanks for the compliments on my walnut bone 47 stockman.(I'll bet Harry
Old Engineer might have one of those, too; he had quite a few knives from that series at one time.)
Jeff, I prefer the look of round bolsters, but I also pretend that round bolsters are easier on pockets than the pointy corners of square bolsters. Probably very similar to my preference for almost sunk joints (canoe and sowbelly stockman are favorite patterns) and my distaste for big sharp tang corners sticking out when a blade is closed. (In reality, I likely won't even live long enough for those "undesirable" factors to make holes in my pockets.)
Tasty Bonus Shot of that 47:

My wife is the pizza maker in our home. I think the odds of her putting smoked oysters on a pizza are pretty slim! They're not bad on pizza!
I'm gonna carry a little pearl Chipaway Cutlery today.

These are the knives inside the box, they get carried often, but the Lambsfoot on the right hogs the pocket...

Headed to town today. It'll be the usual stops. I've got an appointment with the Dentist. He (his technician actually) is going clean my teeth. After all my mouth surgeries and jaw replacement, I've only got eight teeth left so it shouldn't take her any time at all. Just think, after I leave the Dentist, I'll be sparkling when I get to the Wagon Wheel Cafe. I'll have to be careful when driving not to smile or the sun reflecting off my newly polished teeth may blind oncoming traffic. This trip calls for something useful yet subdued so I'll be totin this 2-blade Buck 301 with black, burlap, micarta covers.

I had no idea. We got ours 5 years ago, and we signed up right away. We've saved a bunch of money shopping there. Their gas prices are always the lowest in the area. Significantly lower. More knife money for me!![]()

Thank you, Barrett.Nice group, John.
I should throw a couple of celluloid knives in there to really give you nightmares.I’m only slightly bothered by your storage method that involves the knives all being piled in on top of each other
I'm a big fan of those old school camp knives.
I'm glad you got it narrowed down.As you know, the 62’s have always been among my favorites … along with the 66 Minks, the 56 & 57 Doglegs, the 25’s, the 47’s, the 72’s, the …

Terrific trio GaryHere are a couple more of what I'm calling "my 10 best stockman knives" that I'll carry until next Monday.
Uncle Henry 897UH medium stockman that I think is the standard to which all medium stock knives should be compared (thanks, Dean). Look at those rounded bolsters! Look at those (almost) sunk joints! Look at those low-riding blades (especially the sheepsfoot, Case!)! Look at that long slender clip! (OK, I'd better add another photo.) Look at that Staglon! Look at those sensuous curves in the serpentine frame!

Incredible Barrett!Yesterday, after picking Eleanor up from school, I took the girls over to a friend’s house so they could swim in the lake. While walking around in the shallow water, I spotted something sticking out of the sandy lake bottom. It turned out to be a Minnesota license plate from 1935.
