What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beautiful red color on that bone!!! 👍🏻
This week I'm carrying my "top ten" from another category I intend to include in my new weekly rotation schedule. My old schedule had a category of "Bailed non-SAKs" and another of "Big Knives" and those will be "selectively merged" into a new category called "Work Knives" for my new schedule. It consists primarily of electrician knives, camp/scout/utility knives (that are not SAKs), sodbuster-style knives of various sizes, and nautical knives of various kinds (if a knife has a shackle/bail and an anchor shield, it's IN for sure). So here are a couple of my favorites from the category.
Camillus linesman knife, my first electrician whose black and silver color scheme makes the knife look very distinguished IMHO:

Love the anchor shield on your Watchman, Gary.

Hammer Brand split back whittler today. Tight and snappy with pinched and lined bolsters, thin and near razor sharp blades. The thing is the handle covers aren't that attractive to me. Picked it up cheap on the big auction site a couple years ago and I don't think it had ever been used.
I dated it at the time but forget now when it was made, seems like it was the 40's or 50's but I could be way off. Solid knife though.

The colors of the covers look to be a perfect match for the day
Fall yes. Sorry but not into pro sports other than Indy car and formula 1. College football is another story
Go Hawkeyes even though they’re not very good this year so far
Seeing those baseball cards reminds me that growing up in Omaha I knew and went to high school with Bob Gibson‘s oldest daughter. Bob grew up in Omaha and I used to see him and his family at swimming pool our families belonged to. First met him when I was 7 or 8. I just remembered how BIG his hand was when he shook mine. I wish he would have played longer but when MLB in their infinite wisdom lowered the mound he decided to call it a career. But man he could sling it!
That is amazing! I never got to meet him, but was at games he was there for like the 64 reunion and final game at Busch II. We got our dog the day he passed so we named him Gibson.
I’d be more ready if the Giants or Angels were doing as well as the Cardinals 😁
The giants have had our number since ‘87 and have provided a lot of highlights for y’all to look back on in recent memory.

It’s an appropriate prop for today, but I just got lucky with that because I didn’t realize it was International Talk Like a Pirate Day until I got to work! 🤣🏴‍☠️
I've had a few Walk Like a Pirate days lately! o_O 🤣 ;)
Thats a super functional looking fixed blade, Jack  As always, beautiful lamsfoot to complement

Thank you, GT. :)

Nope... it the piggy kind. :)

Next time, I'll be sure to write 100 words or more. ;)
...
🤓 My problem is that I often write 100+ words and still have almost no significant content!

Haha! Good memory, Gary!
Some experiences are unforgettable!🤓

Today I'm gonna carry this burnt bone Fight'n Rooster copperhead. I added this to my collection around 4 yrs ago and mostly it has just sat in a drawer. A very solid knife in a pattern I like, the blade etch is just a bit gaudy for my taste but I feel like I should put it to use just the same. :)

I've been interested in a famous Detroit Tigers baseball star named Ty Cobb since I was a little kid, and one of his nicknames was the "Georgia Peach". So I encourage you to carry that beauty, gaudy etch or not, Greg!:thumbsup:🤓

One Canoe I never tire of totin' ...

Pretty risky to pose a canoe with such pointy blades on your tire, Jim!:thumbsup:🤓
