Thanks! It was a fun little project. Dry sand paper - 1000, 1200, 1500, 2000, then a white Scotch Brite pad. Finished it by flitzing the bolsters, shield, and Micarta - applied with with the white pad.Wow, great job Jon! What grit did you use and did you put some wax on it when you were finished?

Our second camp at Moraine in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park was already occupied when we arrived. I love walk-in campsites, and have always been of the opinion that walking in keeps stupid out. Pretty sure 100/100 of the world's best campsites are walk-ins.
Why bring knives? In case you leave your tent pegs at a campsite... My whittled model actually works MUCH better than the aluminum stakes I lost

Shanks! I feel that five was a good number to bring, in the name of packing light. Not pictured is the Plumb Scout axe I used for firewood. Because although I do baton, I don't hate my knives and have no intention of pushing them beyond reasonable limits.
