Thanks a lot for you kind words (x2,) Jack!!! :)

A keen ebony cutter and a versatile 66 slicer make an awesome Friday pairing; the redbone GEC covers look marvelous in your image, as well!:D👍👍
Many thanks for the kind words JJ :)
I grabbed these two old favorites for today. :)
They are fab favourites my friend, and they go together beautifully :)
Thankful for the end of a long week. Ending the week with some good bourbon and an even better knife.

Thanks Jack!

Excellent knives, but I’m curious what buster posey was in the news for?

Perfect covers!

Awesome knife and that’s great art on the zippo!

An apple a day 🤣

Thanks Todd!

The knife is obviously awesome, but I love the glass!

I remember when those were new!
Thanks Jon, I got it as a farewell gift from another gentleman in the wardroom when I left that boat.

Cool morning. Cool enough that Mrs Fleschwund came downstairs and turned on the furnace. 🙄
But chilly weather makes me think about simmering a big soup bone for a few days, and tossing in some of these beans.
Making a big pot of split pea soup with ham is on my agenda today.

We have returned from camping in the mountains of Colorado, and here is the promised photo dump. I'm not even gonna try to catch up with this thread, but rather trust that you all behaved at least somewhat in my absence ;).
Fist campsite above Nederland. Haul a kid up a mountain and light him a nice fire, and he will ask for his Ipad

Beginning of a hike at Brainerd Lake. Don't be too jealous, weather turned to a 48 degree rain right after I snapped this pic, it was hard going and we turned back after 1/2 mile.

Our second camp at Moraine in Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park was already occupied when we arrived. I love walk-in campsites, and have always been of the opinion that walking in keeps stupid out. Pretty sure 100/100 of the world's best campsites are walk-ins.

Why bring knives? In case you leave your tent pegs at a campsite... My whittled model actually works MUCH better than the aluminum stakes I lost 😁

Time for some coffee, nice view from the table

Shanks! I feel that five was a good number to bring, in the name of packing light 🤣. Not pictured is the Plumb Scout axe I used for firewood. Because although I do baton, I don't hate my knives and have no intention of pushing them beyond reasonable limits.
