What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks John. 👍

Thanks Jack. 😊

That’s okay Mike, I knew you were a Chiefs fan when I sent it! 🤣

Two great knives Jeremy. 😎👍
Thanks Todd. Hope you had a good weekend.

I agree, Pete. That one is very nice and fits in well.
Micarta and Muskrat. Eagerly anticipating the new GEC Muskrat!

I love how the burlap micarta turned out following your work on it, Jon.

I'll be on my own today. Cindy is going up to Klamath Falls, Oregon with her sister-in-law and that means I'll be on my own for the day. That means I'll be free to eat Tiny Tot Sardines, peanut butter, Hormel chili with beans or chili without beans (a big decision) instant Chinese noodles, Hormel canned tamales, and maybe some junk food too. Since I'll be on my own with just the dogs, I'll need a substantial knife so this Scout Trapper should do.

And…both with the CBK which I’ve really been appreciating lately. I carry it in my pocket, with the dangler sheath hanging on my belt. E56C75C7-54CE-4E12-BC2C-DFF1EAB37A5D.jpeg
When I was a boy, I used my allowance and lawn mowing money for a subscription to Outdoor Life Magazine. Between that, and the Cabela’s and LL Bean catalogs, back when they were full of archery, fly fishing, and canoeing gear instead of over priced outdoor clothing for rich people to wear at Aspen and for mall adventuring. It was then that I read about the weird, but super efficient design of the D.H. Russell Canadian Belt Knife. Should have saved up and bought an original back then. Now, they are spendy and hard to find, and their official current maker is not cheap either. Well, I saw this Solingen, Germany made Ideal Products version on the auction site a year or two ago, and got it cheap. I know it’s not a real Russell, or Grohmann, but it works for me. Great Solingen steel, and nice rosewood, and after some work on my oilstones to fix the thick edge, it cuts very well. It’s much easier for me to pull it our while holding vegetables or twine in my left hand, snd not having to use both hands to open a folder.

Nice selection this morning. I remember outdoor magazines actually having articles about outdoor activities. Now just pages of ads with an article or two thrown in.

Modoc ED Modoc ED ~

I laughed at “and maybe some junk food too”.
I’m sure Cindy alerted the Sheriff that you were on your own today, so behave yourself!

Yep, the Sheriff is on full alert as are the Forest Service Lookouts but I'm gonna fool them all. I'm staying home unless of course the "Call of the Wagon Wheel Cafe" sings to me. Not likely though since I have such a great selection of Class A foods in the larder to chose from.

Thanks sir! I’m gonna have to keep it buffed pretty regularly to keep that deep shine. Doesn’t take long at the rate I’m carrying it to get a haze back. 👍🏼
