Love that Schrade Whittler. I've been keeping an eye out on the auction site recently for a nice example like yours.

Thanks! I highly recommend you searching one out.
It’s one of two I have. I’d admired one that TheChunk91 TheChunk91 had shown here, a Schrade made Craftsman. And he encouraged me to look for one. Then, he sent me a link to one for sale on the ‘bay, and I snapped it up.
But this Schrade is a special one to me. A couple of years ago, we were visiting our Granddaughters down in Georgia, and Ron, aka: Half/Stop Half/Stop , called and invited us to meet him and his wife for breakfast on our way home. So we met at a Cracker Barrel in Tennesse, My wife and daughter hit it off with Pam and Ron, and we got caught up on things since we’d last met up with @OldEngineer at the Badger Knife Show. As we said goodbye, and broke the covid rules to shake hands, he pressed the 804 into my hand. It was only a few weeks later that he went home to the Lord. Great guy, much loved here on the Porch, and I wish I’d gotten to know him better.

I'll post the final 2 of my 10 favorite Case knives that I've been totin' since Monday.
I think this mini copperhead with blue jigged bone covers, red shield, and stainless wharncliffe/pen blade combo is maybe the prettiest knife I own (or maybe it's just the best/luckiest knife photo I've ever taken ;))

I like mini trappers more than I like full size trappers, and I have several Case mini trappers of which I'm quite fond, so I thought I should include one in my top ten Cases. My chestnut jigged bone CV mini trapper is certainly a champ, and I have a fine single-blade "lambcliffe" Carharrt mini trapper (thanks, John), but I finally settled on this one for "historical purposes". Jeff black mamba black mamba once created a Case Beerbelly stockman by taking a Case sowbelly and a Case amber jigged bone mini trapper with clip and cap lifter, and swapping the cap lifter with the spey blade of the sowbelly. Jeff generously sent the modified mini trapper to me with its unique blade combo of full-sized clip and smaller secondary spey blade (originally in the sowbelly), a combo that I prefer to equal length clip/spey characteristic of most mini trappers. Thanks, Jeff!

Definitely :)

Nice story Gary :)
Thanks Jack. Actually there is more to the story.....
My parents had decided on naming their first son David. Since I was first born, that should have been me, but there was a neighborhood "Dennis the Menace" named David when I was born. My folks couldn't bring themselves to name me David. So I got named Gary! Seven years later they'd forgotten about "David the Menace" and my brother got My name!
Life just ain't fair! :) ;)

Same ... but different. I was supposed to be Michael (Mike) but the nurse said first born boy should be named after the father ... so, James (Jim)
Following year, my little brother Mike was born
