Gotta watch the Bucs... they need your help. 😁

Nice looking knives and vises
Thanks much, RLB!
Thank you my friend, I was talking about you within ear-shot of that vice just today :) Disappointing about that vice  I don't know how things are there Jeff, but here you can probably buy a good old vice for less than the cost of one of those dubious modern ones

It is all you enablers here! o_O 🤣

🤣

'THE Knife Man' I'll have you know! 🤣;)

Nice Bunny Ed

That is quite a coincidence, I was talking to a friend today, and he has just named his new old British motorbike, 'Beach Boy', something to do with the fact it's a single cylinder 500! :D

Congratulations Pete :)

Very cool Chip

Glad the news is good so far Jer

Cool bead Todd! :D :)

Very handsome :)

Thank you very much my friend, bird watching it was :)

Those two wood-covered wonders are a great choice JJ :)

Cool pics Jeff :)

Terrific trio Jer :)

Thank you, Jack. For the compliment and for talking about me.😜

You’ve set the stage for me to pose a knife on my big bench vise tomorrow! Love the Record ~ I’d be in trouble if I was lucky enough to hit your mate’s booth, Jack. The way the airlines are, my bag would get rejected for weight.
One thing I’ve scoped out at the flea market is anvils. But whoo wee, the prices are precious.

I was thinking about sending Mr. Jack a PM and asking him "The Mr. Knifeman" if he could ask his buddy "The Mr. Big Vice Man" to price that vice to me, but, I got to thinking about the air freight and if it shifted on the aircraft, it might result in me being sued for crash reimbursements, so I didn't bother. ;) 🤣

Mrs. Primble: "Whatcha doing Honey?"
Mr. Primble: "Perceiving the knife"
Mrs. Primble:

Best one of the morning 🥇🤣

It would have been best one of the morning, exceptin' there is no Mrs. Primble. This could have been best of morning: 🤣

Elijah J. : 🐈‍⬛ thinking ( crazy old man ) zzzZZZ 🤣

Beautiful photos Mr P, you seem to have really taken to the Ettrick :)

LOL! :D

Yeah, he has them even bigger than that one too  It's a nice one isn't it? :)

Thank you Mr. Jack and yes I have taken to my 4 Ettricks. I ordered one in Ebony and one in Rosewood from a dealer, at an extremely attractive price. After they came in, I noticed that they were well made in the function department, but, not much time was spent in finishing them. Not complaining one bit, because it wouldn't be reasonable to expect a lot of fine finishing in knives priced like they were. So I set out with my tiny sanding block and fine abrasives and sanded the liners, back springs, covers slightly, slight swedges on the blade, patina forced. On the rosewood, the wood seemed to have a whitish look in the grain that I didn't care for, so I decided to stain them and try to fill the grain with bone black powder in the oil stain. Didn't solve the problem. Thought on it for a few days and decided to paint the stained handles flat black. Took the paint off with mineral spirits about ten minutes later and the grain was nearly filled with the flat black paint. Stained again. So I actually spent a lot of time on the one I posted today. I do like them all quite a lot now, like a swayback on steroids to me. After I finished the two, I ordered 2 more, thinking that they might be a nice gift to give someone. But now that they are all finished, I have found I might have a hard time choosing which ones to give. 🤣 I reckon only time will tell how the stain holds up. Sorry for the long explanation.🙃

and finally, yes that No. 25 is an awesome vice to prop your knives on.

and thanks to Sacto for enabling me on the Ettrick. 😊

Lol...thanks..I will try to keep it away from Mr.Primble.

What's done is done. You posted it, so it is fair game for perception by Mr. P. 😲😲🤣 ........................... and here you go:

Ah...mea culpa. Should have thought of that as there's no Mrs. mbkr either. Apologies to Elijah J 🙏 😼

Thank you kindly, Good Sir!!! :)

Excellent posing spot for your Bagpipe Ebony Big 'Un Lambsfoot beauty, Jack; that massive vise must weigh at least 10 stone!😳👍👍
Thank you JJ, with all this talk of vices, I thought I'd better get a few pics :D My mate carries those big vices around on his shoulder :D
Toting these two Imperials which include a thrifty old Barlow. :)
A Barlow and a Scout makes for a fantastic combination JJ, two wonderful old Imperials  :)
Should I watch the Blues? 🤨 View attachment 1971221…or the Bucs?🤔View attachment 1971223

We have a friend who had a leg amputated up at the hip a few years ago. He was talking about positive mental attitude, and I told him I had another friend who has that in spades

I'll look forward to seeing that Jeff, my mate had a smashing Parkinson the other week, even bigger than the Record :) I very rarely see anvils for sale, they get snapped up so fast, and the prices are crazy!

LOL! :D I think Tool Man has £80 on that vice, but he'd give me a big discount! :D
