What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Congratulations John
Thank you, Jack. :)
John. Are you calling that and your wedding ring pointless?
The ring... Yes.
The marriage... Never.
I hardly ever wear my wedding ring, usually just on fancy occasions.

View attachment 1986319View attachment 1986318Good morning! Serpentine Jack joined by the BF Barlow for today, but also going to have these on me. I need to carve a bird today.View attachment 1986321View attachment 1986320
As we all have grown kids who are now cranking out kids, my three other siblings and I find it hard to all go to Mom ‘n Dad’s for Thanksgiving like we always have and love to do. So we’re having a Thanksgiving Dinner today at their house.
I said I’d smoke a turkey, which I did yesterday for seven hours. It’s now in the oven to finish off.
Then, my sister said she’d bring a salad, and I said great ~ let me bring stuff out of the garden.
Then, my brother said he’d roast a bunch of vegetables, and I said great ~ let me bring stuff out of the garden.

Much colder weather is on the way, so I figured I may as well harvest stuff anyway.
I have enough crammed in the fridge to fill a huge cooler, which is fine, because whatever doesn’t get used in today’s meal will go into Mom’s fridge.
But I still have a ton of stuff out in the garden. I picked three gallons of brussels sprouts, and that was only half of what’s out there.
It got down to 29f last night, so I had to go out there in my bathrobe and check on my plants ~ they all look fine, though the turnips were a bit wilty looking. And while I was out enjoying the cool breeze running up under my robe, I took my morning knife photos.
Do me a favor and have a stupendously fine Sabado. I’m gonna.

Edit: forgot to mention that I have had that Chicago Cutlery Traveller folding filet knife since about 19 and 82. ( that’s the way us old guys say it)
Another home run of a Christmas present from my lively wife.
I love the way the walnut and brass pins have aged.
Great post!
Have a great day with the family!
I find it amusing that you’re out there in your kilt in the wee hours checking on your babies …
“ … honey, help me run these extension cords! we need to throw some blankets on the plants!”
🤣

I wore right through one of the twisted gold wires of my wedding ring using folded sandpaper.🫣
I need to buy a new one, because the cougars at Walmart seem to think I’m single.🥴

Thanks, Robb!

My second try today as earlier I made a “faux pas” & caused a MOD some work having to move my image to “General”, sorry....
Thoughtless is what it was, yes it was a back-lock but I overlooked the p0c€£t c/!p & t#¥mb $tu&, promise I won’t do it again 😩

I’m running out of my carbon blades preference but I’ll battle on with inoxidable... 😎

Thanks GT, things get better every day! We got a call today from the endocrinologist to say a biopsy of a nodule they found on her thyroid came back benign!
On the overalls I have found to carefully fold the top over in a way that keeps everything in place. But only after my '21 Forum knife took a chip after a high dive onto a tile floor 😳View attachment 1985731
I smoothed the edges with some 1000 grit emory paper, lesson learned the hard way I reckon.
A little character never hurts. She's just more yours now. Cheers.

It's done it again. Dropped about six inches of snow over night and it's still coming down. Mostly light, quarter size flakes which makes it possible to use the leaf blower to clear some of it off but it's gonna take a lot of shovel work and plowing with my small tractor to clear it. This is the kind of day when ya want a large, utility type, knife handy for unexpected chores so, I broke out my Case 2138 L SS (Linerlock) Sod Buster and I'll carry that in a belt sheath on my belt. Sausage, eggs, and hash browns for breakfast.
