What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looks great, and the final carving stages and painting must have gone fast!:thumbsup::cool:
Did you use dog-repellent paint this time?? 🤓
Thanks! I had time and momentum on my side, and I wasn’t too picky. Painting is super fast. I’m leaving him at work far away from the dogs 🤣
Can’t wait to see what’s coming out of that block Jon. 😎👍
I’m making a snowman (or girl) for my daughter. Something easy to get a feel for how the 59 works out.

We were walking the doggoes this morning and went by an estate sale; my better half took both dogs on the seven blocks home while I had the vise in one hand and a paper bag with all this other stuff in the other hand.

My two usual suspects were with me for this.

The big knife we bought is a Victorinox; the pruner / lino knife seems to be unlabeled. I asked about pocketknives, but the lady laughed and said, "I have seven grandsons. All the pocketknives got claimed already."

The shears have a little flag with "DCC" or "CCC" in it, and some text I haven't quite deciphered followed by "Reading PA".

On the whole, an unexpected but fun score this morning.

Great trio Jack !
Thanks buddy, I was probably overknifed today! :D ;)

Hopefully you get a good stretch of the legs with those three robust beauties; have a great Saturday! ;) 👍👍
Thanks JJ, I only got about a mile and a half in I'm afraid, but I was well catered for ;) :D
Thank you very much, Jack!!! They definitely disappear into the pocket :)
They certainly do :)
I’m just going to roll with this one for another day. Have a great Saturday everyone. 😎👍View attachment 1992965
Handsome Jack Todd :)
Voos Jack and a new Barlow style Lambsfoot.

Great pairing Steve :) Really nice Lambsfoot, but it's not a Barlow ;)
I feel kind of fortunate that I made it through 18 years of growing up on a dairy farm without serious mishaps! There were a lot of farmers in our area who were "missing parts" because of accidents involving machinery (often power take-off shafts and loose clothing).
Your knife pair for Thursday looks like it could handle anything the market throws at you (other than low-hanging rafters).:thumbsup::thumbsup:
One of the nastiest things about accidents is the mundanity of them Gary. If you look at photos of old cutlers, they generally cut their shirts and jackets off at the elbow! I've seen a couple of nasty industrial accidents involving rings, but just hearing about our neighbour, made me think very carefully about wearing one  Thank you my friend, no matter how many penknives I give to Tool Man, he never has one on him

Cool pic :)

Nice haul! Reckon I could have got you a similar vice, for about a quarter of that price over here, but postage might have been a killer! :D

Oh, I'm pretty sure we overpaid (we haggled them up a bit because we thought their price was too low - they were basically throwing everthing else in for only a couple of bucks over the price on the vise), but it's a fun haul anyway.
