What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I like how leather fobs and pocket slips look. So every once in a while I use a slip for about a day and then remember that it's just a huge inconvenience.

I tied this fob Saturday night; it's probably coming off tomorrow, which might be my record for actually leaving one on a knife (I haven't had to do much cutting these last few days). Slips and fobs look cool, but are sort of anti-functional for me.

I completely agree with you about slips, especially as an amateur leather worker. I like the way they look, and want reasons to include leather as an accessory, but they add too much bulk in pocket for me. I have found over my lifetime that what works best for me is pocketknives simply in the pocket.

I disagree about lanyards and fobs, though. If they put a hole in the handle, I’m always compelled to hang something there. Lol

I agree, with two exceptions ~
If I’m carrying a vintage oldie with nice jigged bone, I prefer to protect it with a good slip. The one JohnDF JohnDF gave me is ideal, because it’s made of stiff leather, which really protects the knife.

And a fob can make it a bit easier and quicker to fish out. Just don’t close the knife on it.
Robeson Woodcraft folder with a unique chisel point secondary. The bottom of the secondary is nearly as thick as the spine, just a sharp beveled tip for chip carving. 😊

Coined NS liners.

Nice. Another of your “new” ones, I take it.
Kudos on your photos. They really complement the knives themselves.
