Amazing that a picture from taken in Slovenia can remind me so much of where I grew up in Virginia, USA.IMG_20210614_072927378.jpgView from my Dads side deck of part of Big Moccasin valley.Fire+Tower+Mendota--2.jpg
This fire tower is 6 miles from his house, overlooking Moccasin Valley.

This is a drone photo of a fire tower on the mountain where I grew up. It is a different one from the previous photo. They're about 30 miles/48km apart. 20221129_125748.jpg
Knife content, just so I'm not completely derailing the thread 😳👍

Great pics of some beautiful country. Nice carry too.

What did you name that carving or what is he ? In any case, nicely done !:thumbsup:😲
Handsome knife too ! 😍

I need to get some pictures of my new snowmen. Nicely done on both counts !:thumbsup:😊

Cool pair of knives Mr P!🤠

Thank you my friend ! 😊:thumbsup:

really loving William and the Lion!
😍
did you enhance the finish on that knife at all or is that how she came?

I had to clean it up a little, but, just a little. Half a dozen or so tiny pepper spots on the carbon blades and the pewter like handle finish was dull and dirty. Cleaned that with alcohol and then brushed across the surfaces a few times with a Super Eraser to create some highlights. After that, it looked good enough to my eye. Thank you my friend !😊

Couple of more green knives that don't exactly bring Christmas to mind, but, hey, it's the thought that counts! 🤓

GEC OD micarta #72 (thanks, Dee). Maybe concentrate on the green and red veggies in second pic.

In the woods all day today with this small neck knife. Did a lot of walking up and down steep ravines, the old joints are starting to let themselves known now that I'm relaxing back home. Maybe the bourbon barrel ale I'm sipping now will help. ;)

Couldn't hurt, Greg! 😁 Sounds like a good day.
(I spent most of the day giving and grading final exams - dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it. 🤓)

The ales for medicinal purposes only, Gary. ;) I think I'd have to drink two or three if I had to grade exams all day. :(

I was carrying mine (see below) the other day, and was struck again by how pretty it is, but also by how well made it is. (My past experience with Case, a decade or so ago, left me very unimpressed.)

I acquired three Case knives over the last 12 months, all made in 2021, I believe. The other two are quite nice - easily competitive with Böker for quality - but this one is as good as any of my GECs (and honestly, better made than my GEC Toothpick, which is kind of falling apart).

No complaints here - if I only cared about functionality in knives, I wouldn't have an account on this forum. I liked the first two Cases a lot (large stockman in black micarta and a Zippo peanut in curly maple) but this one really made me a Case fan.

I have one just like that and gifted 2 others and all 3 impressed me too my friend . I actually carry mine on my mower most of the time .

I know exactly how you feel Greg. I used to be able to cut a tree and carry the logs up out of our little ravine and then do it again the next day, now I have to take a day to recover! 😄
Fantastic photo my friend. 😎👍
