What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It was going so well this year,I made it all the way to day 2 before my first mishap.šŸ˜†

Lovely sunny day, nice coffee then bought some records as a new shop was open, it had gone dark as I didnt notice the time slip by so many great records instore.

Which then led to a massive off on the tow path in the pitch black, lucky I didnt go in the water I wouldnt have got out.

Some people rescued me,Ambulances are jammed up so got a taxi home (A and E is also blocked up) as getting very cold.

Some lass has taken my bike back to her place and locked it up.

They sent a non emergency ambulance to my house, left knee is a big blotch of skimmed skin as is my elbow and my right hand is like a club and very painful.

Best goretex jacket, gloves and trousers shredded, not sure how my bike is or the records I bought,to dark to see.

Watch and best barlow seem OK,helmet saved my limited brain cells 😁

That big patch of water isn’t a lake it’s a ancient flooded common pasture area.

Ouch. Best wishes for speedy recovery. And a less-eventful remainder of 2023.

That would be a welcome gift. Two questions for you ~
Is the Vic Pruner the one they call ā€œ7ā€? The one we also call Harvester? I have one, I think the last new knife I bought. Not counting the Rabbit coming tomorrow.

And do your ladders (and almost everything else) come plastered with lawyer warnings?
ā€œFalling can cause deathā€, ā€œRead cautions in owner’s manual before usingā€, ā€œThe state of California has determined that this product can cause cancerā€, etc?
Here in the US, it’s gotten quite laughable.
Of course, I admit to knowing a few people who don’t know which is the business end of a hammer or shovel, but their brother in law is a lawyer….

WOW! Nicer views are always welcomešŸ‘

When one has too many knives, it may be necessary to rotate more frequently.šŸ¤”

Does one of those ā€œspeak to youā€ more than the others? I think the SCC is amazing.
Harry gave me one, and it’s a gem.

Fortunately, I have found seed suppliers who specialize in heirloom, open pollinated varieties. But commercial growers are forced to grow what the big stores want, like the hard, tasteless tomatoes we get in the grocery store. They arrive hard and green, so they can be trucked hundreds of miles, and then are gassed to make them turn red for display.

Comic book mug looks mad about something, John.
Nice to see you back after your vacation, buddy.

I’m totin two locking single blade Schrades today~ the Scrimshaw which I had to give a new blade, and the masterful 125OT I bought on the exchange a year or two ago ~ thanks, Alan @joeradza!

Jeff, the pruner only has the main blade and pruner blade on a single spring( here is a quick shot showing rhe spring, still on the table fom yesterday😊) the harvester is pretty much a farmer with pruner blade. I have both & both are great.
No govt warnings on ladder, manufacturer warning label which is suprising as we are bit of a nanny state these days.

For me today bunny & roo.
It's new home is a pocket slip made from roo scraps that I made probably 20 years ago.

Sorry to hear this, Johnny. Hope your injuries heal up quickly.

Maybe the devil has shouted "fair game!"
Not that it compares, but I just broke my favorite of three coffee mugs I bought in London in 1976 with Cadbury proof-of-purchase seals and postal money orders.
At least it was almost empty when I hit the inside of my elbow on my own blinkin' kitchen door-frame.

Not even enough left to hold pencils.
