What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I haven't carried my red 18 in a while, and I just about never carry a Barlow.

Maybe the devil has shouted "fair game!"
Not that it compares, but I just broke my favorite of three coffee mugs I bought in London in 1976 with Cadbury proof-of-purchase seals and postal money orders.
At least it was almost empty when I hit the inside of my elbow on my own blinkin' kitchen door-frame.

Not even enough left to hold pencils.
Aw, dangit!
Sometimes a photo just magically comes together👌

I snapped this picture because my cat (Lucifer) wouldn't get off of my map so I worked around him. I just realized that it kind of works as a knife photo :)
One of my lifetime memories is from when I was 15. Dad and I overloaded his Suzuki 250, and rode all the way from Illinois to Grand Marais. Got back packs and gear from an outfitter, and took the ferry over to Isle Royale. We spent several days on the trails dodging moose. On the last day, we rented a fishing boat and he piloted me around until I caught an arm’s length lake trout. We wrapped it in newspaper for the ferry ride back to our hotel at Grand Marais, where the chef cooked it for us like we were visiting royalty.
Next was a long loop in the Boundary Waters by canoe.
Thanks, Dad!
This will be in the pocket later today.

By later, do you mean after you take the photo, or after you put on pants? 🫣
Fantastic pics :)

Sorry to hear this Ed :( We don't bounce so well as we get older, I hope Cindy's scrapes and bruises here soon

That chip has popped up in a few YouTube videos I've watched, nobody seemed to have fun!

Just send him to bed early! :D ;)

Oh no! That sounds like a nasty spill, that could have been a lot worse! Hope you're soon healed. Got a spare waterproof if you need it

I hope I haven't inadvertently passed on the Black Spot! Sorry about your mug Jer :(

Beautiful photo Dwight

Wow, amazing JJ  I was excited when I saw some ground squirrels! :D

Love the BPS, Jack
Everyone's knives continue to impress me for their character, quality and in some cases, history of taking possesion.🍺👍

Speaking of impressed…
Nice pair, Bob!
I'll be totin' my early Cattaraugus half whittler and 🐰Peter Rabbit for Tuesday. It'll be something else tomorrow. 😊

I think I’ve figured it out ~ you are the curator of a knife museum, and they let you check out knives?
I kid, but am in awe of some of the knives you tote, Rob.
Carrying my bunny knife today. I got a brownish one - which is what I was hoping for. Count me as one who wasn't crazy about the etch, so a little vinegar and an apple took care of that.

Mine’s supposed to come today. We’ll see about that etch.🧐
Nice, Will! What are the details on that knife?
Jack picked the Burl Trail this morning. Been carrying an LB5 a lot lately along with a SAK [Delamont 10] today.

The other night, we watched an intense movie filmed in “the gritty underworld of Boston”. I much prefer your western Mass setting!
Baked almonds :) 😋
I thought they were Rice Krispies. 🥴

These 2 for Tuesday. Gonna rain all day it seems. Maybe a good day to touch up the kitchen knives. The background is the tip sheet that came with my Worksharp belt grinder. The Steingass has already spent some time on it. The Livri doesn't need a visit. Came very, very sharp.

What a great story, Jeff! I've got a few myself that come to mind, whenever I think of my dear departed dad.

I need to remind him about that and thank him again! At 89, I am blessed to still have him.
He surprised me yesterday. We were poking around outside, and I suggested we pull up the stakes and twine from the now dead tomatoes I had planted for them last season. As I pulled out my Old Timer, he said “I’ve got you beat”, and whipped out an eight inch filet knife. 🫣

I was impressed, because in the past decade I’ve tried to give him knives, and he always tells me his Victorinox Classic is all he needs.
