sorry for the cell pic, in hand:

Kevin

Glad you've managed to straighten it out (literally!), I'm liking that!

My #72 Cody Scout arrived today. Mighty pleased, perfect working knife. Came with a poor grind mind, have just spent about an hour sorting the main and pen blades, now it cuts!.

I'll post some pic's in the thread together with some comparison pic's of the Bullnose and my #73 for reference....

Thanks Sam!!! I love the one you gave me so much but there is one issue. I started a new job today as a painter and that walnut is turning out to be drop dead gorgeous. The grinds on the one you gave me are flawless. This one was a gift and I will NOT feel bad getting it gunked up at work. The new one I filed the kick out at an angle, ground the metal ring down and filed the back square so it would actually opened all the way. I sanded from 320 up to crocus and oiled it. I dropped the tip with a file and gave it a 60 second warm vinegar bath, a first for my EDC's but I wanted it protected right away. I peened the pivot to our Italian friends specs for how a friction folder should be and its good to o. First day at work and I am already glad I got it as a kick around knife, got a lot of use too :)

I can tell I am going to have to clean it daily

The walnut opinel you gave me will be my lifelong opinel for weekends. I love it.

your opinel is so nice !! wow. just perfect

I'm really glad Kevin, just try to resist using opining tins with the one in the pic!

Hope the job works out for you, painting's one thing I lack patience for!

I'd better post one pic to stay on topic...

Sorry it's a pretty poor lamp lit iphone shot but it does show off the knifes rather nicely rounded posterior. Mmm, comfy:)

Thank you!! You post some amazing knives btw. I always think it but forget to post it :)

Thanks Ed, sorry to hear yours got swiped:(
This one really fits my hand like it was made for it, and back in the day, their steel and grind were very hard to beat.

Ranger three blade knife with yellow derlin scales. The two smaller blades have been sharpened to a wet looking 3000 grit with sandpaper in the convex mousepad method then stropped on charged leather. The main/largest clip point blade was sharpened on a set of the paper wheels richardj promotes. I took a picture of the knife with my phone but the format was not working with the upload feature or uploading to photobucket. Oh well. You will have to use your imaginations or do a google search for "yellow ranger knife three blade". :)

Wow man! That is an incredible looking Opinel, I EDC a Opinel #8 daily and that looks about the same size, look like I'll have to pick one up ;) that Japanese Higonokami I have in my cart will have to wait.
