What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Made more progress on my storage box this afternoon, including finishing the traditional knife tray. My smooth bone 36 is still riding in my pocket, so it didn't make it into the tray picture.

That’s beautiful you’ve inspired one of my carries today.

One of our favorite backyard feeder birds, but for some reason, they’ve been almost totally absent for two years.
Thanks, Jeff.
We've seen 2 or 3 nesting pairs, at least for the last 3 years or so. Hopefully they come back, and bring their kids!

Needed something light(er), and slimm(er) for church. New-to-us church, and unless there’s a potluck, which there was not, I figured I would be unlikely to need to deploy a blade. I wanted something presentable and gentlemanly.

I know y’all recognize the Barlow. The other is a Schrade Walden 766, re-done in dark stag, and given away last year by the talented and generous glennbad glennbad .
I really like it, for it’s heritage going back to Schrade Cut Co days, for it’s funky but oh-so-comfy reverse serpentine/dogleg frame, it’s smaller but useful size, and especially for it’s lovely stag mod by Glen.
So, unless you’ve already poked around and found an old SW catalog, you may be surprised to hear that Schrade Walden called this a “Wharncliffe Pattern”.

As for the church, we will be going back 😉.-
Started checking some out and looking to replace the one we’d left last year, and this may the one.
And the guy who my daughter and I met at Menards last week who invited us, is also enthused that I’m a lead guitarist and long time church player, so that may lead somewhere. I find that exciting because I’ve gone from two bands to one band, to none in the last 14 months.
But first things first ~ need to find the right church for the family above all. My new friend and his family are in THE CLUB as we are. My 30 year old daughter and his 33 year old son have Down Syndrome, so now you can figure out how it came about that we started talking in Menards. 😀 It’s a very special CLUB. 😎

You all have a good rest of your day!

Awesome knives.
Glad you and your family might have the right church. Hopefully you find one that can and will use your musical talents.

Pal Cut cattle punch that I had recovered in rosewood scales rides in the pocket today.

Thanks, Jeff. Jason Ritchie did the recover and shield work on the knife, flawless job too.

I enjoyed reading about your meeting that lead to the church invite, hope it works for you and the family. I have a 16 yr old granddaughter with autism, she has a difficult time connecting with other kids her age but when she does its pretty special. My Daughter and son in law also feel a special connection to other parents they meet who also have an autistic child. All kids bring joy to their families, special needs kids bring special joy. :)
