I don’t remember seeing it, but will look forward to it, my friend. Thanks, Jeff. I don’t remember if I brought that one with me to Janesville last year, but I’ll probably bring it along this year.
Thanks! There are certainly more interesting and more beautiful knives out there, but it’s hard to beat the cutting ability of an Opinel, at least for the stuff I usually use my pocket knives for. And I’ve found the No. 7 to be the Goldilocks size for me… just right.
Love the photos, Josh. You have a good eye for composition.
Yes, we are at the mercy of the mail carrier. I used to have one that always folded my Vintage Guitar magazine, breaking the spine, when all he had to do was roll it up.Ahem... today, I toted this Rosecraft out to the mailbox (three paces) to pick up this new GEC, which was there -- a great (and surprising) development considering my current mail carrier's unique and unknown to me, yet sometimes glaring, challenges.
I then toted the new addition over to the kitchen, and naysayers be darned, proceeded to test its mettle in a rigorous, but diminutive, round of food prep. Let me just say that she's a little monster in the galley, did everything required admirably, and that my faith in this design's utility has been entirely restored. I think the photo speaks for itself in this regard, no?
Thank you Mr. Howard for another winner -- and a celebratory Fat Tuesday to you all!
Hope it went well, Jer.Scruffy SAK for the cardiologist, then the Boker.

Opinel Overload! The bunny today. Heavy rain today, so I decided to spend some time in the garage & clean & oil some carbon blades.

Well said!I love this knife. I love the red that pops out too. I really hope GEC makes more Barlow’s with this bolster and carbon steel in the future. If I could only have one traditional knife, this would be it. Without this community my favorite knife would never be possible.
Love Bladeforums and and The Porch!!
I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it, it’s the best place to talk knives. Have a great week friends

Lovely Schrade WaldenThis Schrade Congress showed up in yesterday's mail. Cool little knife. It goes into the pocket today along with a 15 barlow. I don't tend to reach for a barlow very often, but it felt like a good choice today.

“My Primble display cabinet”?For Wednesday, I decided to tote my old India Steel Works jack in my watch pocket for another day, since it had been in my Primble display cabinet for a long time and just got rotated out.
Also my little Catt pen that Mr. R. kindly sent me ..... and my "older than somebody around here" NYKC ebony Barlow, since it's wooden Wednesday.![]()

Hey Barrett, this thread moves so fast and I don't always get to it often enough...I really like the little 25, it's so odd it's endearingA couple fantastic old knives! I particularly like that EO Hammer Brand. Very cool.
How do you like it, Paul? I’m a big fan of the #25 pattern so I’m hoping to pick up at least one — hopefully the Barglow Acrylic.
Nice Micarta pair.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… that’s one of the best looking knives GEC have ever made. I need to carry mine again.
I’ve been carrying this Opinel No. 7 a lot lately.

This recovered #44 has seen a lot of pocket time recently as well, with some other knives swapped in here and there. (I need to do a better job of posting in this thread in a regular basis.)
