What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Hope everyone's having a mellow Sunday on the Porch. Ours sure has been.

Been wearing my overalls all weekend - they provide me with a surplus of cargo space! I was pulling out my Moran and Wayne Walker for the usual glamour shot, then realized that it wasn't entirely honest... So here is today's carry in its totality. "El Doctor" as I've named her, is from Grandpa, found in his workbench drawer (which I inherited). About twice a year she's a lifesaver, and the rest of the time a fine sandwich cutter.

I dig that Boker Bart, it's wearing it's years quite handsomely. Is that sawcut delrin? Very cool that you got to meet Nick! His knives look extremely well made to me, I like his simpler handle styles quite a bit. Maybe I should hang out at the KC skate spark, hoping for shank talk? I tried riding some of their ramps on my mountain bike once, that went poorly but the skaters were impressed with my lack of self-regard.

Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund I was going to cut open a package with a fine custom the other day, then thought of how it would make you grit your teeth and switched to my SAK instead. Today I had to explain to the kiddo why I wouldn't be slicing a cardboard sheet in half with my GEC. So now look what you've gone and done - all these knives and it's back to having to carry the 20 dollar SAK in addition to them. 🤔

Ha!😁
No, my friend. I’d only grit my teeth if someone used one of MY knives to cut cardboard.🤣

By the way, I love that you value El Doctor that used to be your Grandfather’s.
It sounds like there’s a story about how it saves your life…

An abandoned cemetary? You mean like in Night Of The Living Dead?

I’d better swap for a big fixed blade!

Nah, it's a pretty quiet crowd up there.

Seriously though, it's been terribly neglected by its present owner. It's in town, but the city won't get involved, and niether will the state of Illinois.

I cleaned up the trash last spring and called the local TV station. After they aired a special on it, the Optimist's Club began cleaning up deadwood and cutting brush.

Hard to believe the 9th week of my "new" rotation schedule is starting today; this year is flying by! 😲
Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is a big (5" closed) Marbles lady leg knife with a little stag spacer up near the pivot along with some factory-applied scrimshaw:

Work Knife of the Week is an Imperial Kamp-King that I bought in an antique store almost exactly 3 years ago, the weekend before COVID-19 showed up in Michigan:

Love that Kamp King. My first real pocket knife was a used Kamp King my Grandfather gave me in the late 1950's or early 1960's. Carried it until the back spring broke.

Here is mine; a replacement to remind me of Grandpa Dud Chase.

That might be my favorite of the heritage series. 👍

That stag and that salami both look great.

Thanks, FC. Yes, It’s sawcut delrin. Nick seems like a very nice guy. I really like his knives and if I ever take the dive into customs, one of his would be on the short list. I give props to any “old guy” doing anything on the ramps, mountain bike included. Our bodies just don’t heal as fast as they used to, at least mine doesn’t 😁

Unique and exquisite Mr.P.
The coat on your Utica is rich..👍

😊

Handsome pair sir :)

😊 ............. a handsome lamb and nice fixed blade for your tote today Mr. Jack.

Nice well preserved classic Jacks. The Utica sort of looks like a gussied up version of the Navy Utility Jacks that Cam, PAL, and Imp. made during WWII.

Thank you Jeff ....... nice totes for you today and I really like the Glenbadd knife.😊

Primble Primble : I was wondering if the Hardware Stores around your area have Restocked the Magnet Supplies yet from back when you made your Magnetic Display Board ?????? LOL

Harry

I had 'em sold out for a good while Harry ! 🤣

Had the TC #14 this morning at church and then switched back over to the Lambfoot when I got home.

All three very attractive !:thumbsup::thumbsup:😍

I took the dog for a walk though the local (nearly abandoned) cemetery today, and spotted two Bucks and a Racoon.
