Sorry for your loss :(
Been a fun day of activity. I carried the bunny for my Nephew’s basketball game and lunch. Took the SAK Electrician out to walk the dogs and now it’s the 88 for a few beers. View attachment 2104499

They say that once you see it, you can't unsee it Mr. Jack. ;)🤣
Do you see that bad cat in your lamb still ? 🤔
LOL! 🤣 JohnDF JohnDF posted something the other day, and it looked just like Batman to me, I was surprised when nobody else thought the same! 🤣 I try not to look too hard, for the most part :D ;)
I had Merle with me today.

Nice to see Merle back home after his travels Barrett :)
The laws here, in CA, are just a hair better than that, though still a bit too much social engineering :( I did find a 75 meter long lane, here, that should work out well for bolts, pellets and BBs, though. Once this rain takes a decent break, I'll put up a backstop (8' x 8', or so) to mediate any potential "fliers" that may be disruptive. I do have a itch to plink and the area gun club has been hit by major flooding, with no re-opening in sight o_O
Yes, I've been surprised when I've heard of some of the restrictions there :( I'm glad you found somewhere JJ, be great to hear how you find it :)
Thank you most kindly, Jack!!! :)

Your lovely Lambsfoot and stately old pen make a fine Saturday pair; hope yu had a great one!;)👍👍
Many thanks my friend :)

Osage is an amazing wood, it also gets harder and more durable the longer it ages. I've worked some osage fence post with a drawknife that were cut in the 40's and it was almost like carving stone
I second that, Bois D'Arc is an amazing tree! Makes the best windbreaks, best fenceposts, best bows, best firewood, great knife handles, and the fruit *might* keep bugs out of your basement, although I've always suspected that to be an old wive's tale. Run your sawblades backwards on this stuff people, and you'll stop smoking blades ;)

Great lineup FC! Love that Micarta trio. It makes my eyes happy 😃 . Still…my fixed blade envy runs deep. What is your preferred way to carry these beauties on your person?
Thank you Jon! I rarely get all matchey, but every once in awhile I have a morning where I really have time to get dressed 😅 I generally belt carry my fixed blades. Belt is easier/quicker to draw, and franklyI seem to spend appx. 33% of my time with hands SO filthy that I try not to reach into my pocket for anything. Now if I wear overalls there's no belt to work with, so I have some Northwoods pocket sheaths, or sometimes will slip a sheath knife into the tool pockets on the legs of my Carharrts.
I've been crushing on your jigged bone 38 lately too, I am going to have to try one of those out in that exact configuration.

Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund (can't even find original message to quote but my memory works sometimes) Of course you are right that I'm sentimental over Grandpa's "El Doctor", I'm a sap like a lot of us I think. Funny thing is that Grandpa wasn't sentimental at all, in fact I found this as leftovers from the garage sale when they finally left their two story suburban home. Grandpa had sold all of the power and hand tools one weekend at a garage sale, then when we showed up the next week to help clean and pack I expressed my dismay and he said " I didn't know you would want any of them." - I had only just started my own household and have been obsessed with tools since a very young age. I loved him and I miss him dearly, but he was a man who seldom if ever thought of others - my Dad has a story about how after 7 years of marriage to my mother, maternal Grandpa sat down at the kitchen table with him and said "So Fred, what do you do for a living?" 😶

Someday last week

Friday, the Beer Scout nearly pays for itself (and I bought it on the secondary market). Look at that tower of super-expensive beer!!! Anytime I get poor and thirsty, this town's got my back. I wouldn't even pay for most of these if I could, as I have determined (through the use of science) that NO beer can be worth over 3$ per bottle - it's just not that much better than a 1.50$ beer. For free they're great though!

No spandex here either. Flannel, denim, and leather all the way. No batteries and no clips, but I do reserve the right to don a pair of closed-toe sport sandals and cargo shorts for warm weather. Nice knives - is that really a Wenger?
Spandex should have stayed with the racers, thinking you need to wear the stuff to ride a bike at all keeps a lot of people from trying, I should imagine. I'm with you on the atavism right up until the "no batteries" - how do you get home at night without a good headlight? The SAK is just a modern one with Micarta scales off Etsy - still handy though. Nice to see some other pedal bikes on here! ;)
