What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Love that Eureka Brian. Is that a pretty good representation of the color in that bone? Very nice

No, unfortunately the pic is enhanced a bit for clarity. Here is a normal shot. Still doesn't do it justice. I find it hard to capture the true color of the smooth bone.

Thanks for the follow up. That bone is my front runner right now but I am kinda waiting for the new ones to get released before I make up my mind on what Eureka I want to own.

This weekend I've been fussing with this new Queen straight jack. I'm guessing this was made a couple of years ago judging from the obliqueness of the edge angles. The as shipped edge angle was well over 20° per side (I'd bet it was 22.5). I like to take Queen D2 down to a 15° per side angle. Even with an extra coarse DMT diamond stone, with that much D2 steel to remove, it takes a while. Close to a thousand strokes per side. I don't have enough patience and concentration to do it all at once. The main blade is almost there. Haven't started on the small blade.

But it's a pretty thing with nice ergonomics, both in the pocket and in the hand. Very nice fit and finish. I love the way they bent the bolsters to match the dips in the covers. It'll be a darling, once the edges are fixed up. Springs are flush in open and closed and the blades don't wobble. (I keep reading comments about wobbling Queen blades. I got a fair number of Queens and have never gotten one with a wobbly blade.) Spring strength is a solid 5. Both blades have half stops.

REALLY pretty covers on this one.

That's a great looking pattern from Queen Frank:thumbup: I bet that one is a dandy once you get the edges to where they please you.

Threw this one into my pocket when I finished up painting today...

At work I carry a Boker congress for opening packages and a Buck cadet for other stuff. Outside of work I carry either a Case or Northwoods congress and a German Bull stockman.

Sounds like you've had your work cut out Frank, but that's a great-looking knife. Nice to see it in the workout thread too :)

Lovely Duane

Finedges, loving the #33 Whittler!

I'm carrying the one on the far right today. This single clip Gabon Ebony Wood Charlow has become a favorite.

My old cellphone takes crappy pics but anyway: sway back jack. Kinda hard to EDC anything bigger after something like this. :)
