What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The wood grain on this is beautiful. Is it Bocote wood? Great photo and knife, thanks for sharing!

Thanks! It is bocote, which I've developed a serious infatuation with. It's also my first 'woodie' GEC, and I couldn't be happier with it. I don't know why I've waited this long on the #57 Half-Whitt pattern - it's sweet.

And Jason - I have to agree with the others; that dogleg is stunning. Love the swedge spearpoint with the looong pull!

Preparing a 9 lb pork picinic shoulder in a brine/marinade for tomorrow, Cuban style grill roasted pork. This Boker lockback with Devin Thomas (1,078 layer) basketweave stainless damascus and dark ebony is helping out.

Maybe it is the thought of pork wafting through the air, or maybe the gorgeous damascus, but you have me salivating over that beautiful knife, MT.

Thanks Duane and Locutus, the basketweave pattern is a time consuming one, and this particular blade is a fine example, made by one of the great forgers.

edit- try to find a pork picnic shoulder with skin on and bone in, I drove 60 miles to the farm to get one, guy told me their is only 2 commercial places in the state of Montana that sell it that way.

I had originally planned to carry the new ebony Charlow today, but it being "T-bone Tuesday" I've decided to pack the antique yellow bone Charlow in the photo below instead. I carry the ebony on Wednesday...
