If I ever get rid of my beard, I’m going to try a straight razor. But I don’t plan on getting rid of my beardI was prepping to shave and a thought popped to mind, here is my photo for the day. This is my Case with one of my ebay rescue razors. The edge had some pits, so had to take some of the edge off and buff it for awhile, but now it shaves very nicely.

Say Hi to Jonathon from Colonial Penn! It's gonna be a boring but important day. We're calling our insurance company to verify and go over our life insurance policies. Nobody is expecting to take a dirt nap but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Sausage and waffles for breakfast. This #86 2AB Barlow will make a good carry while declining insurance coverage amounts and increased premium rates. Bless those little insurance agents hearts - they just can't help themselves trying to increase benefit/coverage amounts.

Love the old Camco. That makes two knives I’ve seen that Camillus made for the old paper mills.I had these at the farm this morning. We were planting seed trays inside. I highly recommend escarole. At at least .177 caliber, they are visible and handleable.

Is that really your Dad? Great photo! That’s a great story about your dad, Harry, and neat that it made the paper! Here’s an old newspaper clipping of my dad “on the job.”

I won’t make that mistake again! (Ah, who am I kidding? I probably will. I’ve even got a spreadsheet. Need to add a few knives to it and get it up to date.)
That’s a really special knife, Jeff.
That’s a nice one! Not the flashiest jigged bone GEC has done, but fits really nicely with the knife.
I grabbed these two today for What-A-Wooden-Wednesday.

Ominous quote today! No phot doctoring here, just a quick snap from the place where it is 70 and fluorescent.

It’s that total $ spent that scares me!Nice picture of your father and your knives. I like both of those folders quite a bit !![]()
I do the spreadsheet thing too ..... Description ... model no .... type of steel .... year made ... price paid .... where I got it ..... totals at the bottom, which I rarely look at.

A sentiment I can get behind.I have "nicer" knives, but I still really like this old thing:

I’ve got a 175 too. We don’t see them here often, which is a shame, because it’s a great knife.
I agree, Jeff. I don't carry it enough. Useful little guy.I’ve got a 175 too. We don’t see them here often, which is a shame, because it’s a great knife.

Certainly a good choice for work knives Jeff.So many nice knives from y’all lately.
I am very glad it’s not a competition. I am not browsing the auction site, or watching for the latest drop, but have still been blessed with new knives through the thoughtful giving of fellow Porchsters.
This pristine Case Sidbuster showed up in my mail yesterday courtesy of Toddbigfish64 ! He saw me inspecting one at the knife show.
Case designed the handle of the full sized Sodbuster perfectly imo, and I love the silky delrin. I don’t care what some say, I think it makes a great material for work knives.View attachment 2135344View attachment 2135343
Have a fine day, eh?
Gary, beautiful regatta of canoes you have there.JackJack Black , have a happy, and hopefully historic, birthday today!!
As your Meatless March winds down, are you planning an animal flesh fest for April Fools Day??
Canoes of the Week are a stag Mohawk canoe made in Germany for AG Russell and a Rough Rider "bolster stripes" canoe whose jigging pleases me greatly.

Very rich , beautiful deep coloring.
Any special treatment on the blade? I'm about to start carrying my GEC 98 and I'm aiming for patina but no rust.
