What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I grabbed this thrifty toothpick and a Jr. Scout, both from the '30s. :)

I love that first one. I had something similar but have no idea what happened to it.

Thanks a lot, Doc!!! I hope you run across it! :)

My son says I should check my old tool box in the garage (from an old business I ran until 18 years ago), but I can't get to it tonight with my wife parked where she is right now 😅

Well, didn't find the exact one I was looking for, but we found this one in my old tackle box, which I haven't touched in decades. Can't identify it, and it's in bad shape.

Very cool! It looks to be an Imperial from the 1945-55 era, one tough old fella!:)👍

Actually confirmed the numbers on the blade match a vintage Imperial toothpick with scaler.

Also, the missing one must also be the same knife model as this one, but with the silver scales instead of yellow. I'm sure I'll find it around here somewhere, maybe in one of my ammo cans.

Imperial Fish Knife is what they were called. Looks like you found it exactly where many have been found ..... right in the old tackle box. 😊 🐠🐠🐠

They’re all silver underneath the vinyl-ish cover…

TahDah!!

Thanks Bob :) Very true my friend, I called in the docs last Wednesday because my prescription hadn't gone through to the pharmacy as it's supposed to. They said it'd be at the pharmacy the following day. I had to go back to the docs again today, as the pharmacy still hadn't received it!

That sounds exactly what I go thru with my doctor and pharmacy. One blames the other ! 🤬

Keen Kutter Barlow for Tuesday. This Barlow was listed in the 1899 Simmons Hardware catalog. 😊
I won't be totin' that long handled axe very far. I think the axe might be an old reproduction, though it is pretty tough. I peened pretty hard on it with a hammer and later accidentally dropped it on my basement steps and it tumbled down six concrete steps. I jumped to the side to avoid a painful collision with my shin. Took a few small chunks of concrete out .... no damage to the head. It does have the welded in forged steel edge .... which keeps me wondering a little.

Nice trio, Jeff. The weather is nice. Smoking a cigar and basking in the sun as I type this. Take care buddy.
Thanks, my friend! Yes, the weathermen got their act together here in the midwest.

A fine addition to the Northfield Wing of the Old Engineer Knife Museum, my friend! 😉

It’s almost as if they were made to tote as a pair. 👌

Real nice! 🤙
The Camillus of the day. I had picked out a few neat ones from one of the catalogs y'all posted in the stickies and snagged them. A week or so ago. Good fun!

This #7 is a little bit of a mess with a badly rusted back spring, but cleaned up alright and functions flawlessly. The cam-lock is cool. Overall I'm happy to check it out. Definitely not something I'll be using regularly, though. I did get to try a new sheath pattern for it. A bit rough but it was just a trial. I'll give it a day or two and see how it goes.

Love that Cammy, and your leatherwork looks great to me.
I just realized that my yellow toothpick fish knife is the one I have had the longest. My Grandpa gave it to me brand new when I was seven or eight, and he was teaching me about fishing. I had to restore it a couple of years ago, because I’d neglected it for decades down in the bottom tray of an old tackle box. Now, it looks like new, and brings great memories of the man who taught me about fishing and about always carrying a sharp pocket knife.

I like how the doc’s office will blame the pharmacy, and the pharmacy will blame the doc’s office. 😏
A very enjoyable and worthwhile way to pass the time, Bob. Did you just get that old jack?
I wonder if I can live long enough to carry this often enough to make it as black as the one I bought Saturday.

Something was bothering me, but when I turned my phone on it’s side, everything was ok again.
