What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wee... have to start walking more on natural ground instead of paved surfaces. So, at least a couple times a week will be driving to the local Conservation area to spend an hour or so walking and taking photos, instead of walking the circuit around the apartments.

Today's companion.

Poor duck lol. Nice pair, Jeff
No, Lucky Duck! He still has his head…
Thanks, Amigo.
Nice photos Jeff. Looking forward to the garden photos. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd!
I actually have a couple garden photos to post, I just have to not overdue it and get boring! 😱
Been on a bit of an old knife kick, especially old Shapleigh Hardware knives, since I picked up the Diamond Edge EO at the Badger Knife Show. The Barlow is a recent pickup. 😎👍View attachment 2150533
Oh man. Love the flat bone scales on the DE Barlow.

I have to get on a plane in the morning, carryon only. I will feel naked!
I once had to spend a knifeless week in Florida. Even worse, I had no guitar, either!!!
I wanted to do some fishing, so I bought a little Victorinox paring knife for $2, and made a picket sheath out of cereal box cardboard and duct tape. Then, I got my father in law to drive me around to some pawn shops, where I found a Squier Strat for $99. That gave me something to keep my hands busy in the evenings.
They brought it home for me in their car, and it later became the bones for a complete strip down, and rebuild into a good guitar.
Going to 90 on the jersey shore....a walk on the beach with my Schrade seems about right.View attachment 2150755View attachment 2150756
This knife has great detailing.
Tang indicates pre..1946
I have no intention, or the funding to try to collect ALL the Schrades, but that model is fantastic! I don’t recall seeing you post it before, but hope you tote and show it often.

I love how the handle is kind of the reverse of their Serpentine Jacks.
Headed out shortly to take Cindy to the hospital for her procedure. Shouldn't take long and then back home. This calls for light duty carry so Bunny #525 and Buck 055, both capable knives, will go on the adventure with us. Cindy can't eat anything and I'll not eat anything in front of her so, I expect my stomach will be growling at me until we're home.

Best wishes for your First Mate, Sailor!
Wise move not eating in front of her…
Another beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! Today I’ll be carrying my newly recovered Case SB in a slip by our Porch friend Jeremy and the usual lamb. I’m very pleased with the craftsmanship of @jsdistin. 😀

Looks like a fine view for hiking.

When I was in rehab, learning to walk again (long story), the physical therapists taught me how good it is for you to walk on rough, uneven ground. It makes all those little micro muscles work in a way that pavement doesn’t.

@Bloefield~ that is an important one year marker! Best wishes for many more, buddy.

I have to agree with you Jeff....lucky find. What's that saying about a blind Squirrel😁..it arrived yesterday. Hope to give it lots of pocket time.

Nothing to prune or harvest, so not totin a hawkbill. But I was preparing some beds and planting, so a Sodbuster seemed a natural choice.
Paired it with my Ulster made Craftsman.
No salamanders were harmed in taking this photo, but he was moving pretty quick, so it took at least six tries to get his photo. I’d put the knife in front of him, and before I could fumble my phone up, he’d crawled over and past it.
I spooked him out of the bed I was readying to plant spinach.
Kale that I planted last fall is up and rockin.

My lovely, long suffering wife put the kibosh on me setting up my rack with grow lights in the house (go figure~ a little mud never hurt anyone), and said why don’t you buy a greenhouse?

So I did. The truck named after a mythical tribe of hot women delivered it last week, and I got it set up the other day. Now, I’ve got about 90 tomatoes, peppers, and brussels sprouts started in there.

Outside, I planted snow peas, spinach, and two kinds of lettuce…all stuff that won’t mind a late frost. I’ll sleep well tonight.

Thanks. And yup, too many years pounding concrete and asphalt for me, have rightly buggered my lower back, hips, knees and feet. Time to start rebuilding better.

Let's start with the cutlery. Two fine choices for outdoor chores.

With that garden you will be dining well Jeff.
Superb garden mascot to keep around.

Simply, simply outrageous Mr.P 😃.
A true artist sculpted that one.👍

Thank you Ed and Mr. R. ........ that was my first Catt and caused me to detour off the junction of the Primble River to the Cattaraugus River .......... for quite some time. 😇

Neither do I Mr P, there are far more important things I could use my ailing memory for! 😁 Thank you very much my friend 🙂👍

Great pic Mr P 😎🙂👍

Me don't like snakes and serpents or goblins and such, but, I love little Salamanders. I hope his feet weren't bleeding as he scurried away !🤣

I did get outside after I removed the Snow Plow from the lawn tractor . Pruned 2 Pine trees to allow me to mow under them and took out another , but smaller , 4 to 5 inch , Pine tree . It gets a little tougher to do every year but I can't just stop yet .
