Ed I hope all went well for Cindy and she is at home now resting and you both are enjoying your evening relaxing.Headed out shortly to take Cindy to the hospital for her procedure. Shouldn't take long and then back home. This calls for light duty carry so Bunny #525 and Buck 055, both capable knives, will go on the adventure with us. Cindy can't eat anything and I'll not eat anything in front of her so, I expect my stomach will be growling at me until we're home.

Happy Birthday Josh !
Two examples of some great jigging
Great scenery! Looks like a nice place for your walk.Wee... have to start walking more on natural ground instead of paved surfaces. So, at least a couple times a week will be driving to the local Conservation area to spend an hour or so walking and taking photos, instead of walking the circuit around the apartments.
Today's companion.

I’m glad to see the start of the garden pictures, Jeff.Nothing to prune or harvest, so not totin a hawkbill. But I was preparing some beds and planting, so a Sodbuster seemed a natural choice.
Paired it with my Ulster made Craftsman.View attachment 2151539
No salamanders were harmed in taking this photo, but he was moving pretty quick, so it took at least six tries to get his photo. I’d put the knife in front of him, and before I could fumble my phone up, he’d crawled over and past it.
I spooked him out of the bed I was readying to plant spinach.View attachment 2151540
Kale that I planted last fall is up and rockin.View attachment 2151541
My lovely, long suffering wife put the kibosh on me setting up my rack with grow lights in the house (go figure~ a little mud never hurt anyone), and said why don’t you buy a greenhouse?
So I did. The truck named after a mythical tribe of hot women delivered it last week, and I got it set up the other day. Now, I’ve got about 90 tomatoes, peppers, and brussels sprouts started in there.
Outside, I planted snow peas, spinach, and two kinds of lettuce…all stuff that won’t mind a late frost. I’ll sleep well tonight.
A couple of fine shadow patterns. I wish those were more common in current production knives.
Happy birthday!

Happy birthday my friend
Happy birthday
Nice kissing cranes canoe.
That 93OT is a great pattern, and yours is looking clean! This Taylor Schrade 93OT Serpentine Jack has been in my pocket today.
Mostly because I found it in the washing machine last night and stuck it in my pocket so that I would remember dab some oil on the joints.

Congrats on locating that one! It's older than the first one you posted, but in much better condition. Love the cracked ice covers and that fish shield!
Apparently I should feel fortunate that my pharmacy is very competent! If I request a prescription refill (online) and it has no refills left on the prescription, the pharmacy actually contacts the physician who originally wrote the prescription to get it "renewed", and they usually contact me by phone within 2-3 days to say it's ready to be picked up.Thanks BobVery true my friend, I called in the docs last Wednesday because my prescription hadn't gone through to the pharmacy as it's supposed to. They said it'd be at the pharmacy the following day. I had to go back to the docs again today, as the pharmacy still hadn't received it!

Congrats TO you for that TWO-bladed TEW lambsfoot on TUESday; like the trapper, TOO, Steve!
That's a good story, Jeff! Will you post any photos of the restored old fish knife?I just realized that my yellow toothpick fish knife is the one I have had the longest. My Grandpa gave it to me brand new when I was seven or eight, and he was teaching me about fishing. I had to restore it a couple of years ago, because I’d neglected it for decades down in the bottom tray of an old tackle box. Now, it looks like new, and brings great memories of the man who taught me about fishing and about always carrying a sharp pocket knife.
Heavenly handles, Jim!An Albers day for me today...

Sorry to hear that you took a look at the pile side right before bedtime, Mr. P. If that ever happens again, you should know that there is a hotline you can call for support — just call 1-800-CRITTER. They are available 24/7.![]()
Comedy Central right here on The Porch! That's my phone number JW !
Now who'm I gonna call ?!!!![]()
Love that pair of "seasoned veteran" knives!
Great post! I hope you and your wife have Peace and Long Life together. My usual Case with a card my wife made for me as I wrestle with some health issues. The thought after being together 35 years means more than any object ever could.

Enjoy seeing that cattle knife this month! Will we see the secondary blades occasionally later this month?
Sorry to hear about a favorite trail closing, but at least you have that duo of vintage Ulsters to help you maintain a positive outlook!the park department closed the best part of my daily hiking trail today. Really sucks going to find a new trail.

You're well-equipped for a new career as a fish and wild life officer, Jim!

Harry, that's impressive, but you and your spouse must have been child bride and groom!I wish you all the best to reach that goal my friend . It was great to be able to say that a couple of years ago . We actually had 60 years in before we were 80 .
Harry.
Splendid pair of knives, Greg! I like carrying knives for a week at a time; changing every day just doesn't seem to give me enough time to "build relationships" with my carries.4 days in a row with these two. This particular combo, watch pocket/back pocket carry, covers a lot of bases regarding blade selection. I think I'll go ahead and make it 5 consecutive days and carry them again tomorrow.

Congrats on the awesome Albers, Barrett! You got me with the Opinel comment....
Well now you’re gonna make me feel bad about posting today’s carry…

I basically never use a pocket slip, but something about that wood made it tough to just throw this one my pocket like I normally would, so I grabbed this slip thatJohnDF sent me a while back. I’m talking, of course, about the stunning beechwood on that Opinel No. 8… just look at it!

Those are some wild acrylic covers!
That's why I never even attempt to get any of those "buy-before-you-try" knives in the "lolly scrambles." Seems like I don't stand a chance with my Ma Bell rotary dial phone on landline!I'll try harder the next drop ...... with my new prototype iPhone 17, Wile E. Coyote edition phone, and Applepay ++++.![]()
Superb pair of carries, Jack! The immaculate celluloid covers on your old KK are outstanding!...
The talk of Keen Kutter withPrimble made me hanker to carry one
Partnered with my trusty Hartshead Barlow
Have a good day everyone

Thanks, Tyson, for your kind comments. I agree that the quad-lined bolsters and walnut Rogers jigged bone that Case used on the series of knives to which that mini copperlock belongs make for a very handsome knife. That mini copperlock is beautiful! Among the most attractive of the many good-looking knives you post from your collection. I recently acquired a mini copperlock, and I'm far more impressed with it than I expected to be. Works like a bigger knife than it actually is, carries like a smaller knife than it actually is.
Thanks for the info, Bob.Hi Gary
The top knife is a French Perceval. It only goes by L08...no name.
Ultimate Ulster - wow!
LOL!Thanks Jack...I'm enjoying it now. Weather here can turn on you like a rabid dog.
Glad you survived market day.
Stunning pair Steve
Gorgeous ChipThrowback Thursday with this gorgeous little whittler from the Electric Knife Company...the first company to use electric kilns for heat treating instead of natural gas, pretty crazy for ~1890
