What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks JJ, I received a new slingshot in the mail the other day, so I have been having the odd plink ;) :D

Happy plinking, Jack!
Your slingshot reminds of an old memory I have. When I was about twelve years old I'd head up into the woods behind our house. I'd have my Old Timer, Prince Albert in a can stockman (a gift from my dad), some BBs and my slingshot. I'd plink at most anything I saw.
One day I spotted a Chipmunk sitting on a limb maybe 20 feet away. I took my shot, he dropped to the ground, jerked a few times and passed. A head shot. Total dumb luck. I dug a hole and buried him. I felt pretty bad for days. Some things you never forget. That was my first lesson in "don't aim at anything you don't want to kill".
Sixty years later, I still have the stockman but the slingshot is long gone. I put birdseed out for the chipmunks.

No doubt! This 33 might make me a pen knife believer. I see you are quite at home with this species. That Ike is looking nice!
Thanks! I do love the Ike, the execution on it is outstanding, and it’s a classic older knife … but the thing the 33 has going for it (aside from stunning good looks and style to spare), is the blade to handle ratio.
For such a small frame, it really packs a payload!
👍🏼😁👍🏼

Thanks Gary, that's a good story, some things really stay with you through life don't they? Do you fancy making a comeback buddy, it doesn't take long to get good again with those modern flat-bands, and clay ammo is safe, even for chipmunks? ;) :)

Enjoy your time with your grandson!
Brought a couple knives on my trip but carrying and using the Climber everyday around Dad’s house helping him take care of things. Can’t even begin to catch up to the forum so I’ll just jump in here with a photo…View attachment 2156818
I’m at that mid point where I go help Mom and Dad when I can, as well as go out to Colorado to help my son fix things at his house. And from those times when both Dad and my son have come to help me, I know your Dad is grateful.

I might look into that, Jack! I still have a woods behind the house!
I think Gary was right the first time about the chipmunks.
LOL! They are pretty mischievous, Jer! As long as they stay outside, they don't bother me.

I'll send you one over Gary, there are some great YT videos on how to use them, but the flat-bands make them faster, more accurate, and easier to use than the old ones with the thick rubber or heavy tubes. Not that it sounds like you struggled with those! :D

I hope it is not another rabbit hole Jeff.
We should all pass that unwritten tradition down. Our parents helped us, we help our children....then it reverses as time goes by.

I may have to get into this plinking activity.😃 Plenty of time on my hands and over a million acres of pine barrens.( most of Southern New Jersey is in the national pine reserve).
