Wonderful memories like those are always a welcome thought on any day. Grandpa's, fishing and hunting always make for good memories.Just the other day I was thinking about when I was a kid, I’d get to spend a few weeks with Grandpa and Grandma at their cabin on Lake Of The Ozarks. No annoying sister and little brothers, or Mom ‘n Dad ~ just me and the two of them. He’d give me his single shot .22 and send me off in the woods, or let me take his fishing boat out by myself…
One of the highlights was when she’d pack a cooler while he got out the fly rods, and we’d get up before dawn for the trip down to Bennett Springs.
Nice size bass. The bass I can see returning but 25 crappie??Had the Eureka Jack with me this morning crappie fishing. Caught about 25 crappie and this large mouth but released them all.

Brilliant photos.Took a 400 mile mental health day road trip from NW AR to North Central AR yesterday. Saw lots of cool stuff including historic bridge at Cotter, City Bluff at Calico Rock and Blanchard Springs Caverns at Fifty-Six.View attachment 2175887View attachment 2175891View attachment 2175894View attachment 2175895View attachment 2175896View attachment 2175900View attachment 2175901View attachment 2175905View attachment 2175906

Thanks! I usually keep some crappie about every trip, and these were nice eating size (10—10.5”), but I have some crappie fillets in the freezer, and Mrs. Crappie told me to quit keeping so many. Now and then it’s nice to just fish and not have to clean any.Wonderful memories like those are always a welcome thought on any day. Grandpa's, fishing and hunting always make for good memories.

I know it’s already been said, but your kids will never forget the memory you gave them today Jon. Bravo my friend!I have a Construction Management degree from Clemson. Not my current profession, but it’s still in my blood. Today’s adventure was bushcrafting at its best with the kids and letting them be the architects and contractors! I was just along for chopping labor.
We had a ton of fun, and Sam was sporting his Condor chopper that he scored back in 2020 from the BF Giveaway Box. As you can see, his knife of choice outgunned me by quite a bit!

I like a lot of Eastwood films. Off the top of my head, I'd say Josie Wales is my favorite. That said, I haven't seen Kelly's Heroes in a couple of decades. The last couple of times it was broadcast, it was so chopped up with commercials, I couldn't watch it. Finally decided to buy the silly thing. After I watch it, I might change my mindKelly's Heroes is Eastwood's best film.
It is a great movie but it just doesn’t make my day.Kelly's Heroes is Eastwood's best film.
Saw it at the theatre around 1970, but seen it many times since. Own the DVD. Josey Wales is up there too: Josey Wales: "You a bounty hunter?" Bounty hunter: "Man's gotta do something for a living these days." Josey Wales: "Dying ain't much of a living....boy." Great dialogue. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is great too.I like a lot of Eastwood films. Off the top of my head, I'd say Josie Wales is my favorite.
