Took a 400 mile mental health day road trip from NW AR to North Central AR yesterday. Saw lots of cool stuff including historic bridge at Cotter, City Bluff at Calico Rock and Blanchard Springs Caverns at Fifty-Six.View attachment 2175887View attachment 2175891View attachment 2175894View attachment 2175895View attachment 2175896View attachment 2175900View attachment 2175901View attachment 2175905View attachment 2175906
That old barn sure makes me miss being a carpenter. Exceptionally good photos, hope you got a lot of healing out of it, I sure did, thanks

Looks like a day to put your feet up and enjoy the quiet for awhile Jeff. Very nice cattleman.
Hi, Bob!
Yes, I managed to relax a bit. After dropping my daughter off at her Day Program, I had an appointment with the Subaru dealer to replace one of the solenoids that control the variable valve timing. When the service manager came into the waiting room to tell me they were done, I was sound asleep. 🥱
Thanks for the nice compliment on the old Sears High Carbon. Today, I’m totin the other one of the two I have.

I find it very hard to NOT have two SAKs in my all the time, even though I rarely post photos. Being a gardener with perpetual dirt under my nails, and s guitar player, the wee Wenger Esquire on my spare key ring is essential.
Never snagged one, but the Midnight Manager looks like a worthy daily companion.
Very nice. Two questions (excuse my ignorance) ~ what is the third blade, and what did GEC name that pattern?

I love cheerful yellow knives. Delrin or bone, I don’t care ~ there’s just something about them…
Good morning all.

Sweet knife from Little Valley. I would guess you spent a couple enjoyable hours cleaning it up.
I also imagine it has a nice sound when it snaps shut.

I’m not a carpenter, but photos like that always bring back memories.
When we first got married, we were living in the Missouri Ozarks. We looked at a property that I still daydream about ~ 20 acres of woods, and a cabin made of hand hewn oak timbers-dovetailed corners and all. The previous owner was trying to renovate it, but ran out of something ~ time/money/ambition?
I was young and dumb enough to give it a go, but no plumbing or electricity made Mrs.Fleschwund say NO.
Thrilled to add this gem to the collection. Thanks balor85 balor85 View attachment 2179808
I’d be thrilled with that Moose, too.

That sounds like the one that got away, but what the missus says goes, you know. As long as she’s with you there’s a home, that’s my belief.
