What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I’m glad my neighborhood isn’t one of them. Those things can make some serious noise! Although I do sometimes hear the zoo animals on my morning run which can be pretty noisy. By the way, I love the barlow 👍
Thr way we first discovered the ones behind Del Paso Regional Park was by hearing them while hiking there. It was only after we'd been there a few times that we finally saw one there.

Nice pairing Tyson :) When I first moved to where I live now, less than 2 miles from the centre of one of England's biggest cities, I was astonished to come across a large bird, early one Sunday morning. Thankfully, a few other people saw it too, otherwise I'd have thought I was hallucinating! None of us knew what on earth it was though. Some either neighbours found it in their back garden, and identified it as a Golden Peacock! How on earth it got here, or where it escaped from we never discovered! o_O
:) We have lots of tactical peacocks (colloquially known as "turkeys") around here, but I don't know where the little populations of actual peacocks came from, either.

Someone was very angry when sharpening this Robeson !😱View attachment 2190779
I bet that Robeson is older than I am, and I'm showing some wear and tear myself. I love that it's still being carried, despite the years and the mileage.

You and I both Tyson.😃 It was made some where between 1940-64. They started using strWberry bone in 1945. It is still a solid knife. I did not want to change the look, but put a micro edge on main blade.

Celebrating Joseph’s 13th birthday exactly the way he wants to do it…spotting trains. Came down to Atlanta to watch a bunch come through this CSX/Norfolk Southern junction. Dad may or may have not jumped the fence to snag a souvenir birthday present railroad spike.

I know a few pubs that keep them as alarm birds, but they're more commonly associated with stately homes here, with geese being another traditional alternative to dogs
