Beautiful pocket knife, Greg, and well photographed as always.
I’ll echo Bob’s question on that wood ~ it’s gorgeous.
Talk about a break in the matrix ~ a cattleman looking at his pasture, carrying an URBAN knife!Urban jack today.![]()
Great photos as always! Thanks for the view.
I hope you got to see some old friends, even though it must be strange seeing how old some of them are! Any knife people there?Just returned today from my 65th year high school reunion and also to see a brother-in-law who had open heart surgery .
There were a surprising number of Old People at the reunion .
Re-cycled photo of todays carry .

People may not realize just how handy SAK scissors are.I've been carrying this Pioneer X in my left pocket for the last 4-5 years. The scissors and bottle opener gets the most use.
Ugh. You remind me that I want to order some tubes for my Fender Pro Reverb, and Mesa Boogie. I have the tubes selected, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. If you want to use the good old ones, preferably NOS, it’s quite expensive!Staying inside, the air quality is BAD. Time to retube Amp and enjoy some LPsView attachment 2211486
Thanks for the well wishes, my friend! Yes, three days on antibiotics is starting to help. I’m just glad the wildfire smoke is not as bad here as it is out east! After carrying that pair all day, Paul, you must have had sweet dreams that night!
Your stag HHB doesn't need any back-up!
I can believe that, Bob!
Sorry to hear about your horrible air quality, Bob, but your knife quality is first rate!
Nice shot of your Owl in a (pine?) tree, Mike!
Was the annual appointment the yearly "Medicare consultation"? Did you have to remember 3 words? Both my wife and I, who had our appointments a few months apart, had to remember "banana", "chair", and "sunset" (or was it "sunrise"? How soon I forget.).
Thanks, Jack.
Thanks for the Black Sea info. You'd think I'd have more geographical knowledge about a country called Bul-GARY-a!
Thanks, Steve.
Classy White Owl, Todd!
Would you ever consider smoking a not-very-classy White Owl cigar when you carry that knife??
Jeff, I hope strong coffee, the feel-good knives, and an antibiotic will get you healthy ASAP.
Striking bocote grain, Jon!
Is there enough space on The Porch for me to get one of those beds with an electric motor to raise and lower the head of the bed?
Sweet pair, Steve!
(Is Lamb and Pony Jack related to dog and pony show?)
Commendable collection of canoes!!
When I hear "Böker Barlow", that's still the knife model I think of!
As always, that Camargue Cross is captivating, JJ!
Thanks, Bart.

Sweet old Redbone Case, my friend!
I think you need another persimmon tree for pollination. Most persimmon trees are not self pollinating, so a single tree won’t bear fruit.Congrats!
Thanks GTI'm a couple years away from Medicare. I did have to fill out a survey regarding anxiety/depression/insomnia. I told her I work hard at living a drama free existence
Its a persimmon tree. It flowers, and for a brief period every year buzzes with bees - a friend once asked, "What's that noise?" as he stood under it - but it never bears fruit

Mid to late '60s, I think.Sweet old Redbone Case, my friend!
Any idea how old it is? Pretty sure it’s pre-1970…
Glad you are feeling better Jeff and yes be thankful you are not in the northeast.Ugh. You remind me that I want to order some tubes for my Fender Pro Reverb, and Mesa Boogie. I have the tubes selected, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. If you want to use the good old ones, preferably NOS, it’s quite expensive!
Thank you very much Jeff . It was great to talk to you again my friend . Seems that I am always waiting on a woman every time I call you .I hope you got to see some old friends, even though it must be strange seeing how old some of them are! Any knife people there?
It was good talking with you yesterday. I love how you give knives to family members.
Unless I’m confused, which sadly does happen, this is the second 110 drop point you’ve shown us this week.
I thought of you last evening as I rolled the trash can down the driveway with Manny’s enthusiastic company.
I had to add something this morning, and just happened to be watching when our faithful Sanitation Engineer emptied it. When the raccoon carcass rolled out he never batted an eye.![]()

About that hospital bed ~ being able to raise the head is great, but what’s really comfy is being able to raise it in the middle, too to get your legs up.
We could make room on the porch for one, but let’s all try to stave off home health care for awhile!

I think you need another persimmon tree for pollination. Most persimmon trees are not self pollinating, so a single tree won’t bear fruit.
“People also ask
Do you need 2 persimmon trees to produce fruit?
American persimmons are not usually self-pollinating, but some named varieties are. If you choose a native seedling however, you will need a second tree to get a good harvest. Also, Japanese and American persimmons will not cross pollinate.”

One of my favoritesCase 2318 punch...just bought and got an excellent example and very happy about it...cheers
All plans fell apart yesterday when we got word that Cindy's sister-in-law was rushed to the hospital. She lives just up the road from us. So, we're doing the Wagon Wheel Cafe and grocery shopping routine today and adding a visit to the hospital in the rotation somewhere. I'll be carrying the dynamic duo today - Bunny #525 and Buck 055 - the Buck in it's sheath on my belt.

Thanks Jack, I hope you have good weather for market day !
Any filters?
Smashing combination Paul
I definitely do JeffI suspect you have the same affection for Bexoid that that I do for Genuine DuPont Delrin. Not only was it the material used on my knives in the ‘70s, but it’s tough and durable, and affordable, which makes it the Working Man’s working knife.
Congratulations JonView attachment 2211231

Lovely pairing Rachel
Great to see those Blue Collar knives from 3 continentsThree that arrived 06-07-23 demanded to be carried. Bunny 291 and the Case CV Canoe graciously agreed to cut their 06-23 pocket time.
(full size) Svord Peasant is clipped to the SAK metal belt loop.
Higonokami #10 is loose in FRP.
Douk Douk EL BARAKA is in RFP, held vertical with a clipped to belt.

Moving post JeffTotin my Schrade 294, which for me is about perfect, along with the Schrade Walden Linesman. Posed on a garlic plant.View attachment 2211628
My garlic patch is about 12’X15’. View attachment 2211629If anything in my garden is marketable, it’s probably going to be garlic. I have been selecting the largest bulbs for re-planting each fall, and it’s paying off. The plants are just starting to form scapes, which you can see here.View attachment 2211635 That’s where the plant would flower and produce seeds. We cut those off (and eat them), so the plant puts all it’s energy into growing a larger bulb.
Potatoes and beets looking good. On the left is a row of turnips just starting to poke up, and left of thet, two rows of bush yellow wax beans which should pop up soon.View attachment 2211630
Walking out front, I took a photo of these two little Redbuds, which always make my think of my son. View attachment 2211632At my parent’s church, the church I grew up in, and we were married in 42 years ago, they built a Memorial Garden in which we put some of his ashes. His brother chose the wording and scripture on his stones, Isaiah 43:1 ~ “Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are mine”
There’s an old Redbud by the Memorial Garden ftom which these tiny seedlings had spread. They were only six inches tall when I dug them out and saved them from the weed puller people.
So now, I think of him when I look at these nice little trees. View attachment 2211634
