What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I used the clip blade on the Stockman enough yesterday, that it needed a touchup last night. And a drop of Norton’s in the joints.😎
The Trapper came out of the Schrade cigar box ready to go.
And since I’m going with yellow, let’s put a little yellow one in my little pocket. DBE04CE7-C13C-498E-8C90-4F81EBB8B256.jpegF4CD01B5-693E-41F3-AE04-D9D1AA3619EA.jpeg
Have a superb and sublime Sunday.

Just another day of working outside all day except for getting to cut the First Roses of the season to bring into Nancy . The 2 outside ones are Mr. Lincoln and the other ones are Double Delight . Both are very fragrant .

And the carries for today 2015 Northfield 77 Barlow and 2019 Forums Knife . The 77 is my very first GEC and other was gifted to me by a very good friend . Both are made of Unobtainium .

Beautiful roses Harry, I bet Nancy was very happy. Those knives are very nice, and I was privileged to be able to handle that beautiful 77 at the knife show. A real stunner. 😎👍

The WW is a beauty FC. Great metal work on the blade.👍🏻
Thank you Bob! Wayne is a true genius, and if you're lucky enough to get on his books can whup up most anything you've been dreaming of.
The Walker is a beauty FC - but it’s a giant by your standards 😂!
Thank you Jon, she is my largest carry @ 7 3/4", but the through tang keeps the weight down to 2.5oz so it doesn't drag me down riding my bicycle. Digging the patina on your 44, feeling great about moving her on to where she'll see some use ;) I don't see it anymore, did you polish the scratch out of the bottom bolster?
I always love seeing that Davison, FC. I hope everything is alright.
Why thank you Bart, I'm enamored of the Davison (that grind!) I will surely die with that knife still in my possession 😁 Everything will be all right when I make it - that's Dad's job, right? Meant to tell you, nice 'stash Bart - stay sharp!
It is. There’s a farm nearby and he’s got a good acre in knee high garlic. Obviously growing for market, and probably quite valuable acre for acre.

Hey ~ just find a little spot a foot or two square, strip the grass, loosen the soil, dig in some compost or manure, and when late summer rolls around, Sept/Oct, break up a couple of your favorite organic bulbs. Plant the individual cloves pointy end up about six inches deep, and about six inches apart. We plant them then so they get a little growth and root feeding in before winter. Then, you’ll be amazed come spring.
Absolutely going to do this, may need a lot more than a few square feet - we eat a ton of organic garlic. Maybe next year will be less tumultuous and I can get the garden planted in the coming spring? I would love to hit you up for bean-knowledge, you seem to have so much of it. I also really dig those Ulster TL-29's, think I'll scare one up as a consolation prize for not shelling out for the GEC 53.
Hard to see stamp, an old Robeson.
G'd mawnin' Bob! Superior everything on that old Robeson man, love love it - the bone, jigging, and that full main 😘 (kiss for your knife, not you)

Yesterday morning

Had to switch for an afternoon bicycle ride, the Davison is choice for this as it disappears in the pocket.

Rainy today. Haven't carried this PL in too long, don't know why it's one of my favorites and the first handmade to order knife I ever had. Paul really nailed it and kind of opened my mind to just *how* good a custom can be. Happy Sundays gang!

😅.. thanks FC...you have three nice combos for your cutting duties.

Just received this one to add to my bull moose recovers. Charcoal hemp wood double bomb shield threaded bolster and half stops installed View attachment 2214943View attachment 2214944View attachment 2214945View attachment 2214946View attachment 2214943View attachment 2214944View attachment 2214945View attachment 2214946
Hemp wood? Is that a composite?

Edit: Never mind. I never heard of it so I "googled" it.:) I won't post the link, but it sounds like some pretty cool stuff. From the site:
"This American-made floor covering goes from seed to floor within 150 days"

SAK of the Week isn't actually a Swiss Army Knife, but it's one of my favorite knives from Victorinox, a folding paring knife with liner lock:
fldprng.mark.Vflat.rock.jpg
It's big, as you can see in this pic with ruler and Rough Rider folding hunter:
fldprng.RRfldhntr.comp.open.jpg

Speaking of big, my Stockman of the Week is a Chinese Schrade 858OT Lumberjack, at least 4.5" closed:

Carry For The Week of 06-11 to 06-18-23.
All freshly stropped on a plain unadorned no polishing or diamond compounds/paste applied "no name" leather barber's strop.

Belt n' Kneck:
(belt) Victorinox Mini Champ.
Douk Douk El Baraka.
(full size) SVORD Peasant (with a "New Black" handle)
(kneck) Toferner "Celtic Pocket/Neck Knife" (from Czech Republic)
View attachment 2215099
Pocket Carry:
(both in right front) Rossignol Laguiole (The number "6326" is stamped on the mark side tang. "440" on the pile side tang.)
"Is "6326" the model number?" You ask? I dunno. I think the "440" is the blade steel, though.
Spanish Pallares Slosona ("medium" size, with a "leaf" blade)
View attachment 2215102

Not Shown:
(belt carry) Leatherman Charge+ TTI (since 03-10-22)
Clarification:
The Toferner kneck knife (part of my EDC since 11-04-21) will probably continue past 06-18-23. I see no reason for it not to.

Please have a "good" and/or "great" week. 😇

Couple of Black Beauties, Steve!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks GT! I hope you’re having a great day! 😃
Same to you, sir! :)

Everyone was gracious enough to make room for my rocker not too long ago; so I will just push mine over a bit Gary.😃

😅😅 now I will have that song in my head playing all weekend!!
Long live Mama Cass.
Glad I could provide some weekend entertainment, Bob! 🤓

Thanks, and you are right but don’t tell anyone!!!
🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

...

🤣 Turned out great. 👍

Yes, but they are as pronounced as the mark side. Here’s a photo with better light.

Thanks for the additional photo, Todd. I can see why you prefer the mark side of your Case Barlow, but that pile side is not bad at all!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Superb sowbelly, G2! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Today's wood wearing totes. :)
Dandy dark wood duo, JJ!:cool::thumbsup:

...

Have a great weekend everyone :) Carrying my Hartshead Barlow, my Spring Street Barlow, and if the weather allows, I'll be gardening with my Condor Low Drag

Stellar black box stockman, Jon!:thumbsup::cool:

They don't seem too mundane to me Gary. A nice purposeful group.
Thanks, Bob. :)
I was actually using "quotidian" in what I think was its original sense (that I think I remember from high school Latin classes), meaning simply "daily" or "every day", since those 4 knives form my literal EDC. (I think the "mundane" or "ordinary" meaning probably came later, since for most of us, our lives aren't constantly full of thrills and new experiences, so what happens every day is not very exciting, just part of the daily routine.)

Sent me to the dictionary 🤓
🤓:thumbsup: IMHO, that book should always be on the best-seller list! (I just spent some time this morning trying to figure out why "sublime" and "subliminal", which seem like they'd have very similar origins, have almost opposite meanings.)

...

For me today:

I always enjoy seeing the Fantastic Four.
Thanks, Rachel. :)
I always admire your wood Esquire :cool::thumbsup:, although I suspect if I actually had one in hand, I'd decide it might be too small (both length and thickness) for me to carry very often.

That's a commendable 72! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Time to celebrate my youngest graduating from college.
Congrats to both of you!:cool::cool:

😁🤓

...

Thanks JJ, unfortunately I didn't get to do any gardening, because I turned my ankle on the appalling pavement on my street :(

Enjoy your Sunday everyone

Sorry your ankle took a turn for the worse, Jack.:confused: I hope there's not much pain and swelling, and that you'll be up and around ASAP.
Astonishing burl on your Albers!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks a lot buddy :) My ankle is still sore, but only slightly swollen thankfully :) Had to cancel my walk though :(

Glad I could provide some weekend music in your head.

Thanks kindly Gary...and as always for the Sunday chuckle.😄
I will take the mundane now, over the chaos of my earlier years.

I thought you have a hiking stick/1/4 staff?
I hope your ankle is better soon.
I hate when my ankle (one or both) competes with my knees, hips, and lower back to see which can produce the most "ow".

Oh well ... I ain't in the wheelchair yet. The Doctors told me 60 years go this year: "Steve, you'll be in a wheelchair before you're 20."
They was mistaken. I be 68 this year. I still don't own or rent one a them daRn things.

(I do have a recent prescription for a powered one, however. But ... since I can still walk the inside length of the building (100? 150? feet) I can't get that prescription filled 'cept on my dollar. I don't have that many of them things. The guv'ment will pop for it when (not "if") I cannot walk that far anymore.)
