Yes sir, those two are brand new SFA’s straight from Titusville, PA.New from the Redezvous? I saw a couple of ebony coated models in the Rendezvous thead.
Very nice, Travis.
I suppose it’s fortunate I didn’t wish everyone a sublingual Sunday, huh?IMHO, that book should always be on the best-seller list! (I just spent some time this morning trying to figure out why "sublime" and "subliminal", which seem like they'd have very similar origins, have almost opposite meanings.)

Superannuated Hickory, and Venerable Timer just kinda lack something, Mike. It's been overcast, grey and dark all day. It would be ok if we were getting any rain, 'cause we sure could use it, but my rain gauge only shows 0.25" so far

Anyway I've been hanging out inside today. Had a little insomnia last night so I did my work out, then took a nap. Now I'm watching NASCAR. Used the Old Timer to open a snack and the Old Hickory to chop some pepper and onion for eggs, but didn't take a pic of it. Old Timer and Old Hickory......should have got some Old Folks sausage to go with all the "old" stuff

Switched at midday again, so you fine people get one more pic. Will be repeating this pair, 10/10. My Asiatic Lilly bloomed, it loves this heat.
Sweet offer, that's exactly what I was fishing forWill totally hit you up on that. The solarizing is easy I know how to do that. How many hours of sun would garlic like? I'm in a position to dial it in. Bonus - fresh garlic provides a wonderful blue patina!
I love that you have this thought out Jon! You have F.C.'s "Good Knife Home" seal of approval![]()

Impressive group of knives for the week!

I feel your pain. I have a lot of Queen knives. Diamond hones are the only thing that I've found to be truly effective at amending the infamous Queen D2 and 25 DPS butterknife edges. I never got a Queen D2 blade which did not require reprofiling. I tried using Sharpmaker aluminum oxide rods, and ended up needing to replace the rods. They developed hollow areas in the center. D2 has vanadium carbides. Vandadium carbide is harder than aluminum oxide. This is a recent gift and I been spending a ton of time trying to get the d2 blades sharp
And while I am still not 100% happy ...it's at least usably sharp now
I have a few Steve, but don't normally use one all the timeJack Black
I thought you have a hiking stick/1/4 staff?
I hope your ankle is better soon.
I hate when my ankle (one or both) competes with my knees, hips, and lower back to see which can produce the most "ow".
Oh well ... I ain't in the wheelchair yet. The Doctors told me 60 years go this year: "Steve, you'll be in a wheelchair before you're 20."
They was mistaken. I be 68 this year. I still don't own or rent one a them daRn things.
(I do have a recent prescription for a powered one, however. But ... since I can still walk the inside length of the building (100? 150? feet) I can't get that prescription filled 'cept on my dollar. I don't have that many of them things. The guv'ment will pop for it when (not "if") I cannot walk that far anymore.)
Great pic Jack !
Thanks a lot Steve, I love your spalty Lamb, and that's a handsome combination

Thanks a lot, I've not previously had any issues with my ankles, now I can add them to the list!
That is darn stingy on the powered scooter/wheelchair, it's pretty much the same here. Hope you can keep getting around, and flummoxing the docs!

Thanks BobA fine choice to begin the week Jack. Now, no roller skating this week, rest up.
It rained for hours here, at about three drops per minute. This will be tree-watering day.Cold, dank, and drizzly, with the added insult of a paltry .2” of rain.
It was time to remove the scapes from the garlic plants, and the Army surplus boonie hat that I coated with Otter Wax, and the German stag hawkbill in stainless ( kindly given me byJonMcD ) got put to work.
A LOT of commercial growers are oblivious about knives, and would use scissors for this, but I’m a knife guy, right?

Since a miserly fifth of an inch of rain is simply not enough, I became that guy. The guy standing out there on a wet day watering.
By the time I’d given tha garden a deep soaking, and the chicken legs were ready to come off the grill, I was quite chilled, since it had dropped into the low fifties(f.)
So here it is, the twelfth of June, and I needed a good fire.View attachment 2215841
