What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

New lanyard for this little guy. Will be in the pocket this weekend for a trip to Palm Springs. Should come in handy 😃

You Sir are a gluten for punishment! My brother used to live in Palm Springs and I’ve been there in the summer. Needless to say it is VERY HOT! Of course I’ve also been there in the winter and then it’s almost like heaven on earth. 😀

All the bases covered, cool textures in that photo Greg. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. Yep the Robeson has some very satisfying looking jigging on the bone and the trapper wood grip appeals to me as well. 👍
Great pair of knives to usher in another year in your saga.

Happy Birthday, Greg!
Thanks, Jeff. :) Been keeping it real since '58 my friend.😁😁

How can a fella follow that post ^^^?! Very cool pictures, 315 315 !

Like most days anymore, I have these about me.

When I was thinking about what to carry today , which I knew was not going to require much in the way of hard use , I thought that I should just carry a couple of my favorites that I carried a lot back when I did not have so many to choose from . Did not have time today to take any photos . So then when I went back through old photos I discovered that I seldom carried them together . Lots of pics of each one with another knife , but not with them together . But back in Feb. of 2019 there were some photos . Then today I carried my first GEC , a 77 Barlow Ol Red and my first decent Stag knife , a Northfield 73 . Both in slips .

The 77 handled both cutting jobs very well .

Dan, it’s unlikely I’ll be spending much time outside during the day but at nighttime it should be very enjoyable. The highs for this weekend are showing 114-116 degrees 🥵

I’m really considering driving down to Joshua Tree National park one of the nights as it’s one of the best weekends all year to see the Milky Way. Will play it by ear.

Winter time there is nice, sometimes it even snows in Joshua Tree but it gets very cold at nights. Best time is between April-June to visit I’d day

I'm sorry, I held back as long as I could 🤣 Gluten is punishing to some people's GI tract, and being a glutton can do the same thing to them - there, I said it 🥴 😛

Fine pair to start the week !
Thanks Steve :)

Wow Dylan, what a combination!

Today's totes were a couple old Imperials, one wearing metal. :)
Fantastic pairing JJ, those two go well together :)

Summer seems to have sidled-off here for now  Carrying my Hartshead Barlow, and for Random Tuesday, a Solar Jack circa 1970

Happy Birthday, Greg!

Thank you. It’s been several years since I found it, but every time I use it, I think “this could be my only knife, and I’d be just fine”.
This morning, I realized that I’ve told that flea market story before, which means I am beginning to repeat myself. And in this morning’s post, I wished everybody a happy July 9th. Not realizing that my Wenger watch doesn’t adjust for months with less than 31 days, and it’s behind one day.

Maybe I should try crossword puzzles to keep my mind sharp?

I was going to ask about the wood, but I see it’s been answered. It’s purty.

Sorry to hear about the oaks!
The beetles have not done any damage to the beans…yet. But the cabbage moths and their damned cabbage worm offspring are pretty annoying. Quit micro managing for a couple of days, and my kale, and collards have been skeletonized.

I will be sure to show you the rest of the old Stockman, because I’ve decided to just keep using it for a while.
You repeated yourself?? Crossword books here I come.😃
