What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Was wondering also, he hasn't posted since June 11th.

I was gonna ask you Bob, I just assumed everyone else knew why the absenteeism, as a lot of you seem to stay in contact.
Let's all think positive thoughts and see if we can manifest Rob. After all, it worked for @JohnDF , albeit briefly, so maybe it'll work on Primble Primble ? Keep dangling those figured wood covers out here Bob?
FC thanks...don't want to invade his privacy...but may reach out to him soon.

Another hot one today, but this slimline trapper carried easy.

Nice. Have you seen the Slimline thread?
I have been driving the 50 mile trip down to my parent’s house once a week to plant and tend a few tomato and lettuce plants off their back deck. Tried to make it so they can water them from the deck. They’re too old to have a garden anymore. And we always put some chairs in the open garage door and visit a bit. Dad likes to wave at the kids heading to the park district pool.

Fifty miles aint that far, so I have no excuse not to do that year round. Your dedication inspires me.
When I was thinking about what to carry today , which I knew was not going to require much in the way of hard use , I thought that I should just carry a couple of my favorites that I carried a lot back when I did not have so many to choose from . Did not have time today to take any photos . So then when I went back through old photos I discovered that I seldom carried them together . Lots of pics of each one with another knife , but not with them together . But back in Feb. of 2019 there were some photos . Then today I carried my first GEC , a 77 Barlow Ol Red and my first decent Stag knife , a Northfield 73 . Both in slips .

The 77 handled both cutting jobs very well .

Feels like coming home, huh?
Big Red’s looking good.
I'm sorry, I held back as long as I could 🤣 Gluten is punishing to some people's GI tract, and being a glutton can do the same thing to them - there, I said it 🥴 😛
I keep my Apple Auto Fill, and Auto Correct turned off. Mostly to keep my brain sharp, but also because of the words it comes up with.

You repeated yourself?? Crossword books here I come.😃
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…
Really enjoying the photos lately, mother nature and knives, nothing wrong with that.
A bit of a heatwave here, so outside early in the garden and mowing some lawn.
Harry, my roses have been cursed with beetles too.
Good health to everyone.View attachment 2248267
Nice ‘n fancy. What would Primble Primble see?
Welcome to Tuesday.

72 in the slip. 86 in the watch pocket all day. Don’t say it’s impossible. Me and Levi’s have been doing it since ’19.

But it sticks out of the top of the watch pocket, right? And then it grinds into your gut when you squat. No squatting for you.
If you're here for News You Can Use, I can't help you.

I must find the slimline thread.

I thought public pools were a thing of the distant past. Glad to see some are still open.

Ok, those both deserve a rimshot :p

You got good taste, Bob 👍👍👍

Thanks Gary. It’s dyed Mango, very cool stuff.
😎👍
Thanks for the info, Todd; sounds quite refreshing! ;)

A poor cliche " I will agree to disagree" about the weather.😃
Thank you for the compliment Gary.

When I left my classroom after 34 years, there was no remorse,
that told me it was definitely time for me to depart.
It's cool that you adjusted easily to the end of your teaching, Bob!:thumbsup::cool: I'm definitely ambivalent about the end of that long period of my life, even though I'm sure the time is right.

Thank you GT. This is my preferred size Traditional I’ve found 😃
:thumbsup::cool: My problem is I like ANY size between 3.25" and 4.5". 🤓

Wonderful working duo Gary.
Thanks GT, you have a couple of winners today as well.
Thanks for the kind words, Bob and Jeremy. :)

Barlows all the way down today...got the 77's out after I got home from work.

I like that phrase, "Barlows all the way down", especially since you post lots of turtle pictures! 🤓
Quality quartet of knives! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I had these two ebony jacks with me today.
Debonair dark pair, JJ! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Do you know anything about the man with hat on the French blade?

They were small but definitely bigger than they look in the picture. Big enough to recognize the players I knew and big enough for $5. Dollar tickets at Wrigley sounds amazing!
Thanks for the info about what you could see from your seats. :) I'm guessing all the newer ballparks have good sight lines from everywhere in the stands. I went to a game in the mid-70s at old Comiskey Park in Chicago and sat a ways back in the upper deck in left field. I could only see the left fielders as they came out to take their position, and as they went in to the dugout. Otherwise, the upper deck in front of me blocked off where they stood.

Having a Double Lambsfoot Day today ;)

Everyone has such great knives! Here's my little Western and Sak Sportsman carried this morning.

That Western punch stockman is a handsome knife!:cool::cool:

As most of y'all know, I have a trash dumpster and post about it frequently especially when they come to dump it every other month or so on a Friday . I also comment on Tuesdays about Dan's sf fanatic sf fanatic neighborhood as that's trash day for him and the lined up trash cans along his street look quite spiffy and then look like total chaos after the trash men have dumped them all as they go up his street. Well, Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 has noticed this and sent me a unique knife that arrived via FEDEX yesterday. Notice the cool trash truck pictured in the mark side cover and the Trash Talk on the pile side. Anyway, thanks Bob. I'll not open the packaging as it's too cool to destroy.

I'll carry this Classic today.

Congrats on the new Trash Panda II SAK, ED, and props to Bob for his thoughtful generosity!:thumbsup::cool:
My favorite part of your gift is the back of the package that simultaneously shows the "Live Fast, Eat Trash." message on the knife and the CA warning label reminding us that such a diet causes cancer and reproductive harm. 🤓

Had the Pony Jack with me this morning on the lake; heat ran us off the water about 10:00, but it was great crappie fishing. While I was fishing, Mrs. Crappie went to the field day yard sale looking for grand baby clothes but ended up finding this Hammer Brand Toothpick in perfect working order and this nine dot Grand Daddy Barlow. The Barlow has been buffed, but after a month in my pocket, you’ll never know.😜

Kudos to your wife for landing that pair of knives!:thumbsup::cool:
I've never seen an automatic-opening knife in person; is that what the Hammer Brand toothpick is?

Beautiful stag on that lambs foot, Gary. But, gotta love the dogs!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, Jim. :) I love my brass dogs knife (and almost any cast metal knife I've ever seen), but mine is just a Novelty Knife Co. knock-off of an old Hoffritz (IIRC) model I've seen a couple of folks post here.

I’m carrying my swayback jack today.

I painted the deck on the ramp last night. This morning we had to make sure it came out okay 😁
dKGXEck.jpg
That SBJ is a wonderful knife, Bart!:thumbsup::cool:
I'm impressed with the attention you pay to quality control on your ramp! 🤓

Today I had some stag with several blades.
Whenever I see that one, JJ, I can practically hear the hounds baying (or the bulldogs grunting/snuffling)! 🤓:thumbsup:

Celebrating 4000 pages of Lambsfoot goodness with my 2017 Guardians SFO, and also carrying a Scrade Barlow, generously gifted to me by Brian @Fixall :)

I hope all have a good Sunday.

Notable pair, Bob! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Cherish the Churchill! Pursue the Pickle!:cool::cool:

I bought this because it's single-bladed, and I've never carried it because it has only one blade.

I'll take it to church, even though it isn't going to be as hot as I thought.
Jer, you're a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction! 😁
Sweet SAK Solo! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

White Owl for me today. This one gets a lot of use and pocket time, aging nicely. 😎👍View attachment 2246036
Love your knife selection, Todd, but loathe your lunch choice!:thumbsup:🤓

Happy Sunday!

Thanks Gary....funny, I went from teaching to an iron worker at my friend's business for 3 years. I'm not a person that finds an idle life enjoyable.

Cindy is headed up to Klamath Falls, Oregon with her sister-in-law for a shopping spree $$$$$$$$$$$$ !!! She is being nice enough to leave me $60.00 for lunch at the Wagon Wheel Cafe and for whatever other needs I might have. Heh, heh - she doesn't know I have a $100.00 stash in the tractor shed. I'll be totin a single blade version of a Bunny Knife - this one by A. Wright as an SFO for a dealer in Eugene, Oregon.

Totin' this today, and hoping all is well with Mr. P Primble Primble ...
I forgot to compliment your very fine Primble, Jim. I'm finicky about gunstocks (ok, most things) but this one looks just so, and that pocket-worn jigging 😍

In the spirit of Mr. P baiting, I fished this Redwood burl handled fixed blade out to tote today. What monstrosities might be depicted on these scales?
Make it the best Tuesday it can be, Porchsters!
