… hope everyone has a great weekend!
Your stag muskrat is such a splendid knife!

Taking a Pal to the periodontist this morning. Then, depending on what time I get out of there, I might still make it to the weekly pool shooting event View attachment 2259001View attachment 2259002

Plaudits to any person who plays pool through periodontal pain!!

Now that is my kind of sammich, with two capable knives.
Thanks, Bob. Honey, peanut butter, and banana on wheat toast is a very common second course of my breakfast.

Three grandkids here for the day. 4,6 and 7 years. My wife says it keeps me young. I say I need to check my blood pressure!
Peanut in the pocket to go see the snake man at the local library. You got me. I just do what I'm told! :D

Does your local library have a snake-guy-in-residence, or is this a special one-time guest appearance that you've been anticipating for months?
That Peanut has panache!!

These 2 old ones today :

That pen knife with the tip bolsters is a noteworthy knife!

Cherish the Churchill, and Cleave to the cougar claw!

Notable pair!

Superb sunny stag set, Steve!

The stag sheepsfoot is hotter than your air temp!

Today was my daughter Eleanor’s 7th birthday, so I had the Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose that I was carrying the day she was born with me again.

Eleanor has been asking to do these climbing walls at the Mall of America for a while, so she decided to do that for her birthday with one of her friends.

...
After the girls had worn themselves out climbing, we grabbed lunch, walked around and mall a bit, and went to a local toy store we like (not at the Mall of America) so the kids could each get something small. Eleanor’s friend is staying the night, so we’ve just been hanging out at the house letting them play. We had breakfast for dinner and lemon cake for dessert (both Eleanor’s request).

As always, I’ll repost her yearly birthday knife photos, starting with the first one.
...

I didn’t want Eleanor’s knife to get lonely, so I had my Albers Lambsfoot with me, too. They make a nice pair, I think.

Belated birthday greetings to Eleanor! I always enjoy the photos on your girls' birthdays, with their birthday activities and the knife retrospectives. That's quite the climbing set-up you took the girls to; I might even be able to successfully climb some of the routes there. I was especially impressed with the Mount Rushmore wall and how recognizable the presidents' heads were, all via clever shape/placement of the handholds and footholds.
Barrett, I remember your post about Eleanor enjoying videos posted by Michael Chabon early during the pandemic. I'm currently rereading Chabon's Summerland (which I first read almost 20 years ago, and I remember nothing about it!). I didn't remember that it was essentially a kids' book. Has Eleanor ever tried that book? Probably above her current reading level, but she might enjoy having it read to her by you or an audiobook reader.

I was toting an American and a Gunstock today. :)
Intriguing gunstock, JJ! I'm used to gunstocks as a 2-blade jack pattern, but yours with stockman blade combo seems quite rare.

The bone on that quill knife is sensational!

...

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend :) Been raining for days here

Congrats on that beauty!

Thank you. Lock back. Fit and finish on both is excellent.
Thanks for the info. My Mercator is probably my favorite lockback; I really appreciate the forward position of the release bar.

Two (2) blades to start my Sunday off. Haven't carried the Camillus jigged bone jack in awhile, blade pull and snap are right where they suit me. Thin grinds, sharp edge and very close to if not full blades which can be somewhat rare on a knife of its age that has seen a bit of use.
The small Schatt & Morgan jigged bone sleeveboard has all the qualities mentioned about the Camillus above and makes a fine watch pocket carry. Have an enjoyable Sunday folks.

That Navy knife is especially appealing!

This old Colonial Knife Co "cigar end" pocket knife belonged to my Father who passed away in 1985 when I was 26. I found this knife in an old cigar box a while back and it was in poor shape. The blades were rusted badly and stuck inside the liners. I spent several hours carefully performing rust removal and cleaning/oiling the knife all by hand. Now the walk and talk is very solid and the old girl is ready to to carried again.

Congrats on finding that precious heirloom and putting it back into service!

Thanks GT! I agree. The Winchester was a kind porch gift and has been my favorite stockman. Love the jigging.
:thumbsup::thumbsup: 🤓

Thanks mate
The toothpick was made for my 50th. Scales are butterscotch micarta.

Sounds like you @ephsea @Chief have had some close run in with dogs. Stay wary & safe. Doesn't always turn out good, I've been injured more than once walking my dog, ended up with 19 stitches in 1 leg.
Thanks for the toothpick info.
Sorry to hear about your experiences with dog attacks; hope you can avoid them going forward!

Have a great day, and keep showing your fine knife choices.

FINALLY, we have this:
Severe Thunderstorm Warning

I am hoping for a deep soaking rain, which we have not had all summer. And it is pouring.🙂
I was thinking of going down to the Kishwaukee River with my Ugly Stick casting rod and Ambassadeur 5500C to cast a Mepps #3 silver Aglia squirrel tail spinner along a couple of deep rocky banks to see if any Smallmouth Bass want to play, but I think I missed my chance.

Looks like a good day to work in the garage. It’s a mess.

That Peanut has panache!!
Thanks for the Peanut Applauds, Gary.
Dan the Snakeman is a local guy that has built a business putting on shows at libraries and other venues. He does a good job and has a bunch of critters, including tortoises, snakes, alligators. I think he's the one that gets the call from local law enforcement, when they find an alligator etc. in some ones bathtub.
Our DIL let us know know about his show. It was free and a last minute thing for us. The kids got a kick out of it. Now they want a pet snake! I think my DIL is having second thoughts about her suggestion! 😂

Lol....thanks Jack. This came after Willem discovered a flaw before it was sent out. The operation is smooth as velvet.
Fantastic :)
Really like that vista in your top photo, Jack!
And then the close-up in the bottom photo is a cool contrast.
Thank you very much Gary, the photo was taken from the surviving battlements of Sandal Castle. A king was killed in the fields below
Pleasing pair of knives!
Thanks again my friend :)

Beautiful photo
Looking good Jeff :)
