What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I switched to my bunnyoid Parker Barlow yesterday. Camillus slide-lock (I don't remember what they called it) today. And I'll take the field knife to the farm again to show off its BPS sheath.

Each week my rotation schedule usually assigns me TWO canoes, one of my Top Ten canoes and a "not as favorite" canoe. But there seemed to be a glitch in the schedule this week with both canoes being from my list of 10 favorite canoes. To get things back "on track", this week I'm carrying the Top Ten canoe I expected, a Rough Ryder Damascus steel canoe with cinnamon stag bone covers:

For my second canoe, my "adjustment" is to carry a new-to-me canoe that pmek5 pmek5 generously sent me a couple of weeks ago. It's a Case redbone canoe whose tang stamp indicates it was made sometime during 1965-69. Although I'm using it to replace a "missing" NOT-Top-Ten canoe in my schedule, I suspect that the next time I revise my weekly rotation schedule, this Case will make it into the Top Ten Canoes list (thanks, Tim):

These 2 at the moment the single blade was issued to me in the Army, I used it a lot setting points on land rover and other vehicles distributors.

Our Lannys where camouflaged though not pink. 😂

Very cool  Those Wireless Knives knives were made for decades in Sheffield. I bet, if they still exist, the dies are the best part of a hundred years old. My dad was a radio operator in the RA. He never mentioned being issued with a knife, but he wasn't really a knife guy (he carried one, but it wasn't something he had an interest in). I have an Ibberson, but there's barely anything left of the blade, must have broken I guess :(

Finally found out why the internet is down every morning. Frontier, our DSL, phone company has been stringing new fiber optic cable and for the last two nights, someone is coming in behind them in the middle of the night and stripping the new cable out of the ground where it has been laid. It's fixed as of right now but the crooks in Modoc County aren't stupid. They're gonna wait till it's dark and then hit again but the Sheriff, the California Highway Patrol, the phone company, and our city police (the only one on duty at night), all say they've got it under control. I'm not buying it so, just in case the internet is down again in the morning, this Bull Nose is what I'm gonna tote tomorrow and it'll be sausage, one waffle, and one egg up for breakfast.

I'll see you guys/gals/youngsters in the morning - errrrrrr maybe so maybe not.
The old saying “What you tax, you get less of-What you subsidize you get more of” can be modified in this case to “What you tolerate, you get more of”. Let’s hope the good guys are done tolerating the thievery.

Around here, there have been several cases of criminal rings coming out of their crime tolerant cities to steal catalytic converters, and break into houses and barns to steal. Fortunately, our County Sheriff and the State Police have caught all of them.

My wife says we should get a security camera system, so I’ve been looking into it.
Congress is in session!! Toting two today. A Case circa 1975 and an even older Klaas Kissing Crane in stag. Edited to add … both are estate sale finds and in need of a thorough cleaning!!View attachment 2272265
Nice scores!
You remind me that this weekend is the big flea market. And my wife will be gone ~ I can get away with it!
Vacation week selections.

The opinels are for fishing and the Lamb has been taking care of everything else (mostly my pears, oranges, peppers and tomatoes). Gave the #8 gardener to kid #2 for his tackle box. Only one fish yesterday and it was a monster! I am not much of a fisherman but give it a solid try.. kid #2 loves it though.

The Primble congress came along because I'm still just thrilled with how nice it is. Boker is definitely worth a deeper look!

SAK for any SAK situations that may present themselves.
Nice mod on the Opinel handle.
Don’t feel bad about the fishing. I have had very little success on the river this summer. Zero fresh catfish for the skillet, and last week, all I caught was an 8” Smallmouth. I keep trying, though.
Such an awesome knife. I’ve really liked seeing it over the last week.

Great chooses, Tyson, and nice to see you back. I hope you can find some more free time.
I was thinking the same thing about the new GEC.
Alox SAK today.

Very cool knives, John.
Even though electronic ignitions are more reliable, I miss being able to fix a rough runner with a screwdriver and some emery paper for the points. I used to haul propane in the Ozarks, in an Iternational Loadstar that ran on propane. Propane burns extremely clean, so there was never any plug fouling, or internal wear on the pistons or rings. If it was running rough, all I had to fix was the distributor.

Speaking of clean running, and no engine wear, the owner of the company drove a late ‘50s Ford 2 seat Thunderbird he’d bought new and converted to propane. He had over a million miles on it.
Hi
Thanks. This is the barlow edited by GEC (Tidioute cutlery) for Charlie Campagna.

Great spear blade on that one!

It’s a fine sheath.
One of these days, I’d love to see some photos of the farm, Jer. Show us the crops, etc…🤔

Late last night, there was a full moon behind my walnut trees illuminating a cloud formation ~ maybe Altocumulous? I tried to capture the beauty, mostly failed, but you get the idea.7A982AA5-5F61-44A7-A23A-852CD9E44D2D.jpeg
