It's gonna be a goof off day at home today. Maybe fiddle with our garden tractor. Just got it back yesterday with a new Briggs and Stratton engine in it. Gonna stick with the Case capped jack today. Sausage and pancakes for breakfast.

The garden tractor is quite capable. It moved these two piles of gravel without effort. It also has a grader blade that I use to maintain our driveways and back road.

Sold the old Ford tractor a while back. Came in handy to put our place in and put in the back road but way too much more than we need now.

Happy NED! (New Engine Day)…

I’d have had a hard time unloading that Ford. I had a sweet old Simplicity garden tractor that came with a blade. I used to use it to plow snow off my gravel driveway. Unfortunately, when I hit an uneven spot that caught the blade, the force of it broke one of the gears in the transmission. I managed to repair the tranny myself, but never used it to plow after that. It just wasn’t heavy duty enough for that.
So you’d better go easy on that machine, my friend

Just recently acquired a few of my grandfathers pocket knives. This one was one of his most carried and used.
What a great inheritance!
I too am blessed to have some of Grandpa’s knives, tools, and fishing tackle, and think fond thoughts every time I use them.
Another fine example of the BF knives that have been produced by this group , can’t wait for this years offering

I was asleep at the wheel when it came to the Traditional forum when I could have gotten in on the earlier BF knives.

I carried a lot of Spydercos and Cold Steel knives during the 90’s and early 2000’s and a cheap Buck lock failed while cutting field tile underwater. Sand and mud got in it keeping it from fully locking, and it closed on the back of my fingers. I switched to slipjoints after that, and used a fixed blade for repairing field tiles.
Two #15s today. Hope to be on the water before daylight tomorrow.

Nice knives, and Ambassadeur!
Friday favorites. Apparently the local rodent population has been enjoying my stump as well, nice and cool on the North side of my tall house.
Keep those rodents out of the house, Frederick! It’s a constant battle here
That fixed blade is gorgeous. What kind of wood is that?
Love it

Looks like a Sunday Go To Meetin’ dress-up knife.

The uncommon Acorn shield means these GEC knives have stainless steel blades. They are hard to find but very useful when you do.
I didn’t know that about the acorn/stainless. Wise choice for your Louisiana heat and humidity

You may notice I am totin’ the GEC Electrician you kindly gave me day aftef day. I’m really bonding with it, my friend! It’s a great one!
Got out All of Tools For the Day and ended up using every one of them :
Even these :
Harry
The heat wave broke, and got you out of the house! The patina shows you’ve been putting the Barlow to work

We were under a T’Storm watch Thursday evening, and I saw lightning, but it swung north, and missed us. Looked like maybe you were blessed with some rain?
Sweet knife!
Great bench vise, Bart.
I love seeing your spring garden going in, Mitch.
Staying with the BF theme

Another great BF knife
Polished antler is so fine.
Nice handle choice on your new Waynorth HJ, Trav.
I’ll tell you again ~ love the revolver.
Morning chores. You folks have a great Saturday

Love the stitching on your pocket sheath. Nice craftsmanship.
It looks like you’re thinking of a hunting trip?
Used my mobile DMT sharpening system for todays carry.

Did that knife start out as a Lambsfoot?
Fine old German pocket knife, Rachel!
Oh man. Defeated by a can of kidney beans!

Probably wise to not open the knife in the hospital.
Headed out again this morning

It’s amazing what some people consider “sharpening”, isn’t it? Part of the deal when looking for vintage knives.
Never ending chores to do today and will carry this Utica made Klein TL-29. Hash for breakfast.

Nice Klein. I was going to ask how you knew it was made by Utica until I saw the KK. I think the several Kleins in my cigar box were made by Camillus, but they’re not marked.
