Fantastic family heirloom and great story; congrats! This is an iron bolstered Boker half Congress that belonged to my great grandfather. I found it a week ago when I helped my cousin clean out his mom’s house after she passed. It was stuck in the bottom of a coin jar covered with red rust.
Cleaned it up and put an edge on it. Snaps hard and cuts clean. I still remember him using it to peel apples and cut plug tobacco on his front porch while he told his wild stories from when he was in the merchant marine.

Your Carharrt stockman looks like a winner! My dentist just got a new roof. Probably a coincidence that one of her minions called about the same time to schedule something I already told them I wasn't going to have done.
Maybe for tomorrow:

I might have to put my OKC Rat II away until I think I'm old enough to have it. It seems to have given me a lot of minor cuts and stabs in a short time.
They make a powerful pair, but don't forget the duck that makes them a tremendous trio!
Dandy knife duo, Bart!Things are mostly back to normal here today. My son ended up with a cast even though there is no fracture. Apparently it’s a pretty rare injury and there will be a lot more appointments but at least he’s on the road to recovery and no more pain with the hand immobilized.
Anyway, I had a eureka and a Krein fixed blade with me today.

Let me wish you a grand birthday Ed.Today is my birthday. I'm eighty (80) years old today. A lot of things have happened during my lifetime and I've traveled all over the world. I'm not doing anything nor going anywhere today. Just having sausage and eggs for breakfast and Cindy is making my favorite - Shepherds Pie for dinner. I have put my pants on and am carrying one of my top favorite knives - Case CV Sowbelly Stockman. You guys/gals/youngsters have a good day.
