Cool photo! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
You should get your furry friend its own knife, like this one:

Hot and humid here today, I’m ready for Fall. Happy Labor Day everyone. 😎👍View attachment 2309744
A pair of winners for Labor Day, Todd; that Böker stag copperhead goes to the head of the class! 🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

'19 Guardians LF and a OT #43 today

Potent holiday pair, Steve; astounding grain on your ironwood lamb! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Gonna be a somewhat laid back day. Light showers are possible this afternoon. Staying home but tomorrow we're going to town and the Wagon Wheel Cafe for sure. "Burning Man" people will be coming through Alturas and they like to stop at the Wagon Wheel as they spread North and West to the Pacific Northwest. They're usually covered with the white, alkaline, dust of the desert but this year, they're going to be muddy as all get out. It'll be a sight to see. I'm carrying this Lambfoot today which was a thoughtful gift from Dan @sf fanatic . It's a bit unusual as it has a long bolster. Anyway, I'm a bit better today and am going to attempt to eat one of Cindy's soft, fluffy, pancakes and scrambled eggs. Thanks to all who passed on get well wishes yesterday.

Glad your mouth is feeling a little better, ED! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
Must be quite a challenge to deal with that periodic pain flaring up.

HI Mike. I modded that RR080 by grinding the spay blade into a punch. Here's a pic of the other side.

I actually guessed that you had made a punch sowbelly, FBC; great job! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
It was pretty easy for me to figure out since my first sowbelly stockman was a RR amber jigged model exactly like yours (pre-mod). The knife sent me head-over-heels in love with the pattern.

What color is the Humpy? I like it. 👍🏻
Thanks; me, too. :) Case called it pocket worn harvest orange.

Thank you kindly Gary.
According to my daughter, when young, we always ate stingbeans!😃
😁 Did she like eating them, Bob? Can't imagine working up much appetite for a vegetable called stingbeans.

May as well root for Clemson. Kansas fell off the globe a long time ago!View attachment 2310258
I'm sure those young women are enthusiastic and persistent, but if that's Clemson's team this year I can't imagine they'll win many games. :rolleyes: They don't even have sleeves on their uniforms, let alone shoulder pads! o_O

It is a little scary, Gary!
Leave out the comma and that's what they used to say that about me! ;)

These are heirloom beans from southern Appalachia, Gary.
These are greasy beans, called that because the pods are smooth and shiny.
They are supposed to be picked after the pods fill out, which makes them high in protein. And they need to cook a little longer than common snap beans, and a lot of them have strings, which need to be removed while trimming the ends. A bit more work, but worth it.

And, of course, you can also let them dry and shell them out for dry beans.

The names are fun, usually named after the person or family who’ve been growing the variety for generations. This bean is named Whitey Swanger.View attachment 2310465
I grew three varieties this year ~ Whitey Swanger, Nobles, and Turkey Craw.
Three forty foot rows vs. six rows of tomatoes. Next year, I plan on reversing that. I like beans😙
Thanks for the bean lesson, Jeff; sounds like there's a lot to learn about beans. o_O:thumbsup::cool:
I have no idea what variety we used to grow; probably some packet of bean seeds from Burpee's Catalog IIRC.

All day in the salsa trenches…Well, half the day.

One pot hot, one pot not.

The spicier batch got black beans and corn.
Looks like some serious salsa brewing, Jeff! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
What are the ways you use your salsas?

Thanks, Gary. One of my favorite carries. Great size and weight for dress pants pockets, and I love the hollow grind.
:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary.
Yes, me too. Jigged, sawcut, and fake stag~
All Hail The Mighty Delrin!
Jeff, I have a Chinese 5OT lockback with some kind of synthetic handles; looks like the same stuff Schrade USA used, but who knows. The edges of the handles on my knife are "too square" and sharp. What works best for rounding them off a little: sandpaper, files, doesn't matter?

Thanks Gary, That Wards is my favorite Cattle knife, maybe even my favorite knife 👍
I can see why, Steve! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Thank you very much Gary, x 2!!! The Stone is around 3 3/4" closed, but the blade is both beefy and ground to a scalpel edge! 😲;):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks for the info on the Stone, JJ. :thumbsup::)

I started the week with mostly metal. :)
Striking knives, JJ! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Yellow case stockman today.

Great photo, Bart! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

That 2-blade Pioneer Settler (?) is a very appealing knife, José! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks buddy :) :thumbsup:

No, my clavicle is still out of place at the front, so I hope it doesn't recur. Not the rotator cuff I don't think, but they just told me it was a soft-tissue injury at the hospital, which is pretty vague, and not very helpful :( :thumbsup:

Thanks again my friend :D :thumbsup:
...
Sounds less than ideal for sure, Jack; I hope it heals up quickly. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Carrying an unusual German-made Lambsfoot, from the 20's/30's today, along with one of Charlie's Ancient Barlows for my my Random Tuesday pick :thumbsup:

Noteworthy pair, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Hey GT! Quest is a great description. These things are not easy to find. When you do find one....sticker shock ussually sets in. The chase is 70% of the fun for me though. Hope you have a great day my friend.
I haven't looked for single-blade speys, since I prefer folding knives with more than one blade. But I like having a spey as part of the blade combo!

She did not enjoy them...as a youngin, she was a pasta girl.

Clemson is Jon's anchor😃 I was lending moral support. The other team might be slightly distracted, which may help.🤔

Went to the Missouri River Vallery Steam Engine Association annual show today. Beautiful weather, 70's, low humidity, a little fog early, but clearing. A good time was had by all :)

#65. It’s been a hot day on the Outer Banks today. Took a couple pics this afternoon; this is the lighthouse at Corolla, and for all the garbage can lovers, this is how it’s done on the east coast!

Great picture of that lighthouse, we'll try to get to that one next time we are there. BTW, stay safe if you go to the water, something going on there for the past few days with the number of drownings...:oops:

Very nice. The old tractor you are beside is awesome. I believe I have seen it at the Minnesota State Fair a few years back.
