What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Yesterday’s mail floored me. Paul Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 went overboard and sent me this Beer Scout that I have had on my want list for a long time. Such a generous gift from a great guy. Thanks so much my friend! To my surprise, the box didn’t just have one knife…but I can’t show that one in this thread (that knife had a hole in the blade, if you know what I mean). I’ll post it in the modern/traditional thread.

Just in time for the weekend’s football games! Where’s my beer….

Congrats Jon on receiving such a fine blade.
A thoughtful gift from a great porch member. I wonder if Paul has any knives left? He has given so many away unselfishly.

Have a blessed weekend everyone.

I guess I have four of these, if you count the zytel that I paid 25 for and I think is worth 10. Zytel for confiscation bait, Greensleeves for high holy day Sunday best, Sunnysides for whittling by the pot-bellied stove in the general store, and Bruno for everything else.

Thanks kindly Jon.
LOL! 😁 My kids used to do Irish dancing, not sure why 😁 My favourite story about the origin of the style is that at one time, the British Crown banned dancing in Ireland, so to avoid arrest, the Irish folk only danced from the waist down, so that when the British Army walked past pub windows, they couldn't tell dancing was going on! 🀣

Thanks Jack. I agree…I have been a recipient of the great porch culture once again.

Toferner "Celtic Pocket/Neck Knife" still in RFP. (strap looped on/to belt loop.)
Vic Hercules on belt.
M. Fraracco on watch chain in waistcoat pocket. (joined by a black STORM (110 Db) whistle. I feel more ... comfortable ... carrying the whistle than the issued call button. πŸ™„. OH YEAH!!! I am under orders to NEVER blow the whistle. "Too loud! You'll stampeed the neighbor's hamburger & steaks on the hoof, mules, and horses!"πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ‘

the M. Fararcco & whistle, if curious):

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is an EC Simmons Keen Kutter (thanks, Mark). I'd have guessed the knife had a spearpoint blade and ebony handle, but a couple of helpful BF members showed me a catalog cut, and the model number on my knife indicates that it was originally a spey blade with cocobolo handles (from 1921-1934 era).
