Ok. I would not talk about personal problems in just any random social setting, but I feel comfortable with you porch friends. If this irresistable compulsion to carry a bunch of knives is a problem, I suppose you all probably understand. It’s not as if it’s negatively affecting me yet. I don’t have a knife hanging around my neck like afishhunter afishhunter , or have seven pounds of knives in a fanny pack like @5KQs!
Sure, my pants fall down fast when I unbuckle my belt, but I rarely do that in public…
Two in each front pocket, one in the little pocket, and one on the belt, plus my Leatherman and cell phone sheath ~ please tell me I’m normal. D8E4F27C-858A-4161-88E7-FA7EBBF167BC.jpeg183A6FAA-71E9-4403-A365-D472D62A7AFB.jpeg

It's worrisome, because I do understand Jeff.🤔

I could never understand this knife, the tang is stamped "Foreign" , so wherever you are, its not made "here" it almost does not exist and was never made. I like it because the handle has a Fire inside it.

Fantastic knife-on-post shot of your barehead sleeveboard pen knife with the fiery tortoiseshell covers! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Southerner😯
Nah you need to come further to be a southerner😂😂😉
😁:thumbsup: It's all relative, I suppose.

Haha!
My family is from Pennsylvania, and Texans call anything to the north and east "yankee".
It's funny that Yankee really means Connecticut, but the farther you are from there, the bigger the region is, until all Americans were called "yanks". That probably didn't sit well with boys from Dixie. 🤣
Never thought about who applies "Yankee" to whom; very interesting! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm no meteorologist or astronomer, but something seems very fishy about the shadows' positioning (and shape of the shadow of the handle) in that pic! o_O:oops: I had to check the calendar to make sure I hadn't overslept to April 1!🤓 Maybe I just can't figure out the position of the light source.
Congrats on the beautiful vintage knife, even if it's some kind of shape-shifter!:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

A tale of two cities....
[Sheffield and Chambéry]
Great knives, Vince! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
(When I was in high school, I thought Dickens' Tale of Two Cities was one of the best novels I'd ever read. I reread it about 20 years ago, and it didn't impress me nearly as much as it had initially.)

A friend of ours gifted this to me and should not have........yes you Paul@jakeywax31!!!View attachment 2323947
Congrats on the striking stag Remington, Bob, and kudos to Paul for his generosity! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I woke up today with no plans but within about 10 minutes I decided to drive down to Mount St Helens. I first saw it 31 years ago and was completely blown away(no pun intended) by the utter devastation and the amazing landscape. It was like drawing a line where the lush green forest stopped and lunar landscape began. I try to get down there a couple times a year but don’t think I made it last year.

I had a couple errands to do while leaving town, hitting NAPA for some 2 amp fuses and the post office. At the post office I ran into an old timer that had recently moved here from the East coast. He had never seen Mount St Helens so I offered to take him along, to which he happily went. Weather was almost perfect today with just a little haze from some small fires. Some good scenery was coming up once we broke out of the timber.
...

We didn’t have to go much father when you finally see the mountain. The old timer was speechless. I eventually got him to pose with my SAK…View attachment 2324336

I figured the Old timer would like a picture next to the Miner’s car, so one more stop on the way out.

Very informative post and photos! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
(And I completely fell for the story about the old timer who rode with you! o_O:rolleyes:)

Happy Birthday Charlie @waynorth 🎂 Have a great day everyone :thumbsup:

Very fitting pair of folders to post to commemorate Charlie's birthday, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Oh really? I'll have to look for that.

Thanks, Jack. I have at least a handful of Barehead Jacks in ebony, but I couldn't resist picking this one up. I want to look through my old ones and see how many were import brands owned by A. Kastor.
That might make for an interesting thread.

I wonder if I could collect the whole set. 🤣

Rachel, that tang stamp collage is superb! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've enjoyed the toothpicks you posted recently, Jim! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I’m hoping for a better game from the Bears today!

Handsome stockman with a more orange color on the bonestag than I'm used to seeing! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Splendid pair, Steve! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Not anyone in a coffee house knows what good coffee is. Some of the best coffee I have had came from a small cafe in Minnesota. Not sure what the blend was but it was awesome
I'll bet it was Folger's Instant! The best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup! :thumbsup:🤓

Beautiful Case Gary. 😎👍
Thanks Gary. Yes, we’ve been enjoying a nice stretch of cool mornings. Great way to start the day. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. :) Glad you're enjoying the cooler mornings.

Have a great start to the week folks :) Starting mine with another Lamb/Barlow pairing, my K'roo Waboom Lambsfoot, which was gifted to me by Steady Hand Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 , and a vintage Hammer Brand, I received from @JJ Cahill :) Thanks guys :thumbsup:

Inspired pairing, Jack! To show that you mean business, you can "put the Hammer down" AND/OR "lower the Waboom". :cool::thumbsup:🤓

I hope you can get it to your satisfaction next time you sharpen it 👍
Thanks, Steve. :) My next "move" is to try using a guided rod system to see if the more consistent angle it should provide improves on my best free hand attempts.

Very low I saw people walk on water to their boats... 😇
😁 I've heard of that!

Nothin’s happened yet, but I have enough knives in case it does.View attachment 2325817

Superb knife; so long and slender! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Cherish the Churchills!! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I got my degree from Sesame Street University. 🤓
Well-respected institution! Do they play Clemson this year? 😁:thumbsup:

Basic and breathtaking! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I always enjoy seeing your well-matched pairs and trios.

Beer and sausage.

Despite the unusual blade combo, that's obviously a cattle knife, Bart! 🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

So pleased I decided to work on my opening technique after watching some videos.

Its more of a curl of the thumb so pushing almost straight and less chance of snapping a nail.

I have also cleaned and oiled several times,then last night after cleaning under the tap I oiled it and put it on the radiator so the heat would make the oil run easier.

It made it even better.

Now I can open both blades with ease (better than with a pick) even without looking.

Its now a pleasure to open and close.

What a terrific knife this is.

Glad you tamed the beast! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Another generous gift arrived yesterday. Angry Waiter Angry Waiter caught wind that I was searching for a nice blue knife to carry on Cowboys game days. Of course him being him, this awesome 54 was sitting in the mailbox. Thanks, Pete. I will carry this bad boy all week to will the mighty Dallas Cowboys to victory. Along with the 54 is this awesome smooth stag lambsfoot that was a gift a while back from bigfish64 bigfish64 .
