I thought this humble but very practical Opinel nr 7 had earned pocket time. I think it needs some sandpaper and a soaking in teak oil, it has been some time it had a thorough oiling. One mental note here: if you turn an Opinel into a dedicated friction folder and use oil as a finish, soak the knife in oil BEFORE you snug up the pivot. Some of my other Opinels are a bit too tight for comfort because I did the other way round.
When in I need to loosen an Opinel first I dry it out well. If that doesn't do it, I place a padded screwdriver in the slot and twist to open it slightly. If the issue is the initial open, focusing on the lower end helps.
Sorry I don't have a picture to share but my Boker Barlow is in my left front pocket and my Opinal #7 is in the right. I also have a Victorinox Classic riding on my key ring.

Okay, ride that pony hard, but please don't put it away wet.
What do you think of it, especially as compared to other jacks of similar size?
(Ed. to add: I just saw your post in the Pony Jack thread and responded, so feel free to answer this question over there-- more apropos. Thanks!)
Just coming up to midnight here, and I've an early start to go over to Sheffield tomorrow. I'll be carrying my Arthur Wright Lambsfoot, hasn't really had enough pocket-time recently.
