What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Hi Harry, I like using these beauties, andthis one has the best action of any other GEC knife ive ever handled😎
I agree with you on the #77's action . It was my very first GEC and therefore it became my idea of what a Good Action is like . Your photo encouraged me to carry mine today .

Love it. Any idea of the date on that one?
I'm not even sure how to backtrack the year, maker, etc. on the L.L. Beans to be honest. I wish I did! This one arrived a couple of days ago, and after a thorough "Flitz'n" cleaned up rather well. I think one more round will bring it back to like-new status. I must say, it's a very solid piece, and the wood edges have an oddly comfortable roundness to them. It just feels good. Hard to explain. Not too shabby for $25.👍

Back on the Sodbuster Jr. kick again. Just love the simplicity of the single blade in such a utilitarian, comfortable form. Carrying the Corn Cob Jig Antique Bone and the Damascus Vintage Bone. The Damascus has the thickest bone of any Sodbuster Jr. I have.

Wow I didn’t realize Case made fancy sodbusters. Kind of ironic but those are beautiful pieces!

Holy smokes!! 😍 Is this the maroon and the lightning is bringing out the purple. Did they make a purple?? Either way, WOW!! 👌🏻
Thanks, man!

Yep, it's the maroon linen micarta and also, yes, bright natural light really brings out the color.

Inside, both in pictures and to the naked eye, it looks glossy black - which is pretty gorgeous in it's own way.

Those two photos cause the hunter in me to look for ringnecks in the Midwest and Bob white quail in the south. At least when the south had large areas of broom sage.
I’ve never seen pheasant there but I do see quail along the creek where there’s more cover. Yesterday I saw several coyotes and a bunch of sandhill cranes.
Fine pair of knives Bart! 🤠
Thanks David. They covered my needs with ease👍
Glad you know how to eat right, Ellis. Save that grocery money for shanks!

Dig the Case Gary. Jealous that you got to pick a knife in person - I have only bought traditionals on the internet, ever. Kind of sad, huh?

"Good morning a" back atch'ya Bob! I hope your pocket feels as easy as that old friend looks. I think you should live forever, tbh. However, I was a Boy Scout, so in the spirit of preparedness, let us know how to suck up to your wife?

Look at me everybody! I am sitting, and conversing!!! Finally a bit caught up, those 7 repaired tables got last coat of poly Sunday night at 11:30, done and dusted Monday morning. Now to recover my finances, 80 hours of gratis labor is a hard pill to swallow. I did still manage to shell out for this year's BF knife, thank goodness. Family can miss a meal or two 🤷‍♂️

They came out awesome FC. I still like the Micarta one. 👍
You’ve got quite a collection of nice Horsewrights, David. Is that the one that is under 6 inches?
Always a treat to see that big pen knife!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary. It’s a very capable size.

Very neat pair! Good stuff. Who made your folder? i cant quite make out the tang stamp.
Thanks! They are my everyday duo. Kissing Crane is the folder. The markings, (what few there are) lend to the fixed blade being made from a Kelly sythe blade. It’s crazy sharp…almost scary sharp but I haven’t got it there yet, lol. I got it at a flea market for $.99.
