What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Something bareheaded today in honor of this morning's visitors...

Yes he is generous.
Nice pairing. The fixed blade looks very handy, especially in the kitchen
Thank you Rick! Interesting you would say that, my perception was just the opposite. I.e. the Moran is king of the kitchen amongst my traditionals, grabbed it today to compliment the thicker (.01" Cpm CruWear) Stonehocker Spike which I use as a super-hard working knife - what I pick for a stealth carry used for a quick whittle, cutting zip ties, carpet, boxes, etc.

The bone on your Baxter lamb deserves a compliment, applause even. 👏 A very handsome pocketknife sir!

Glad you know how to eat right, Ellis. Save that grocery money for shanks!

Dig the Case Gary. Jealous that you got to pick a knife in person - I have only bought traditionals on the internet, ever. Kind of sad, huh?

"Good morning a" back atch'ya Bob! I hope your pocket feels as easy as that old friend looks. I think you should live forever, tbh. However, I was a Boy Scout, so in the spirit of preparedness, let us know how to suck up to your wife?

Look at me everybody! I am sitting, and conversing!!! Finally a bit caught up, those 7 repaired tables got last coat of poly Sunday night at 11:30, done and dusted Monday morning. Now to recover my finances, 80 hours of gratis labor is a hard pill to swallow. I did still manage to shell out for this year's BF knife, thank goodness. Family can miss a meal or two 🤷‍♂️

Really nice work, Frederick!
Recouping your hours spent monetarily is darned tough. I could tell you what I spent on hardware, pickups, and electronics on my home built Telecaster cooy, and you’d say I saved a lot. But then if I figured in my hours…

Today, I was waiting on a package to be delivered. Received notification the postie, borrowing the British term, put the package on my porch. To my surprise there were two packages.
In the unexpected package were

Jeff, Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund thank you very much my friend. These were unexpected and a surprise. The stockman went into my watch pocket displacing the coin I carry in it and the electrician's displaced my sodbustet from RFP.
These two will be used and enjoyed. Thank you Jeff.
My great pleasure, Rick! Use ‘em for good.

One thing ~ the Camillus 72 is a Carpenter’s Whittler, not a Stockman. 😙
Jeff must have had a great crop of TL's this year? Maybe if we ask nicely, he'll tell us what fertilizer he uses to grow that superbly functional black delrin? Something toxic made by dupont, I'd wager (do they make anything that isn't?). He's awfully generous with them, like everything from his garden!

Finally changed out yesterday's knives for this superbly functional pair, but I'm beat and may just nap with the window open. Pretty fancy napping knives, eh?
I just figure that some folks need a little nudge to get into the joys of a TL-29😀

I really don’t think the black synthetic Camillus used when they dropped Cocobolo (in the 1970’s?) is Dupont Delrin. It’s softer, and more pliable.

Radishing pic Mike :D ;) :thumbsup:

Had this Albers with me again today :) :thumbsup:

Do you play banjo?
One of the guys in my church band plays one if the song is right 🤙

My great pleasure, Rick! Use ‘em for good.

I would like to add a slimline trapper one day, along with a medium toothpick. Both in carbon steel. Yours looks great. 👍
Good choices, IMHO; I like those long slender patterns! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

RLB0414 RLB0414 sent a care packege that arrived yesterday. Totally undeserved, but highly appreciated. He’d messaged about the big Schrade 225H Folding Hunter, but also surprised me with one of the models of Schrade Trappers that I’d always regretted not seeking out. Thanks a million, Rick!
The note you sent is also greatly appreciated, amigo.

Congrats on the fine folders, Jeff, and plaudits to Rick for his thoughtful generosity! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
What's the little doohickey at the butt end of the Schrade trapper? Tweezers or something like that?

When you carry that massive knife, I'll bet you listen to heavy metal, David! 🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you

Thanks, So good I had to find one to useView attachment 2327030
Golden!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Belated birthday greetings! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Notable pair, Harry! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Nice RR copperhead; I like the 2 big blades they use for that pattern. :cool::thumbsup::cool:
(Nice RR slip, too; I have a couple of those and they work well for me.)

Couple of big ol' jacks in my pockets today

That Ka-bar looks like a beast with that monster spey blade! 😲:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I’ve been totin’ these lately. (Well, not really totin’ the big ol’ 51OT exactly. More like lugging it around the house and fiddling with it.)

Terrific knife trio, Barrett! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
What's the story with that post card? Did you find it behind a wall in your house?

...
Ok. I would not talk about personal problems in just any random social setting, but I feel comfortable with you porch friends. If this irresistable compulsion to carry a bunch of knives is a problem, I suppose you all probably understand. It’s not as if it’s negatively affecting me yet. I don’t have a knife hanging around my neck like@afishhunter, or have seven pounds of knives in a fanny pack like @5KQs!
Sure, my pants fall down fast when I unbuckle my belt, but I rarely do that in public…
Two in each front pocket, one in the little pocket, and one on the belt, plus my Leatherman and cell phone sheath ~ please tell me I’m normal. ...
My name is Jeff, and I’m a Knifeaholic.

Have a good day.
I'm not gonna tell you you're "normal", Jeff, because I think each of us is unique (although some folks are uniquer than others o_O). But I do want to update/correct MY situation as you describe it. I'll often have a belted bag that contains up to a dozen knives, but each knife probably weighs .25 pounds at most, so the total weight is under 3 pounds (NOT 7 pounds). And although the bag could be described as a "fanny pack", the way I carry it with the belt over 1 shoulder and diagonally across my front under the opposite arm, with the bag positioned on my back, it's probably more accurate to call it a "cross chest man purse".

I agree the shadow is peculiar. All I can tell you is that I took the picture early in the morning, so the sun was making long shadows.

It is cool, isn't it? I wish I could give credit, but I don't remember where I found it. Whenever I come across a tang stamp chart on the interwebs, I save the image for future reference. I should start noting the source as well.
🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

That sounds like a good plan 👍
Time will tell. 😁

Thank you! They’re the Sunset Autumn jigged bone covers. My wife and I drive out to the Smoky Mountains for day trips several times a year. It’s about a 3 hour drive each way and on the way home we’re driving right into the sunset headed west. The color is spot on with how the sky looks just before the sun disappears. 😁👍
Thanks for the background info on that knife! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

This one just showed up, so I'll be totin' this baby for the rest of the day!! 😍
I apologize in advance for all the pics -- I'm a little FIRED UP!! 😁
OUT with the old (red bone)...
IN WITH THE NEW (chestnut)!!!
I've been in search for the perfect shade of "red bone", and just realized today that "chestnut" is what I was looking for all along. 👍
Congrats on the chestnut jigged Sodbuster Jr! That's a quality quintet of knives in your third photo! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
I picked up a Chinese Schrade 5OT this spring and really like it; your 5OT is fancy!

That ebony lambsfoot is breathtaking! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I feel ya brother 👊
I'm a licensed engineer, and never got to drive a train ☹️
What's up with that? 😒
😁🤓

I you were to attend a Clemson game you would be awed at how good we all are at spelling. The amount of cheers that include spelling C-L-E-M-S-O-N-T-I-G-E-R-S is downright inspirational. The Fighting Semeseans have left their mark on us for the good. When they come to play they are great encouragers and everyone gets a trophy at the end of the game. 🤓
...
Sounds like a very friendly rivalry! 🤓:thumbsup:

That green sawcut 5OT is a classic, Barrett! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

..
I think you’re right. You can clean them up with the comb and then eat them. And wash it down with a beer. Perfect cattle knife!
...
Not the direction I was headed with my comment, Bart, but I like your approach! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

These two today.

Always a treat to see that big pen knife! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

...
Two nice ones there Gary 😎👍

Wow! 😎👍

Thank you Gary 😊👍

LOL!.😁 Thanks again, my friend 😊👍
...
Thanks, Jack. :)

I hope that knife turns out as well for you as the Smith-for-Templeton trade did for the Cardinals! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Back on the Sodbuster Jr. kick again. Just love the simplicity of the single blade in such a utilitarian, comfortable form. Carrying the Corn Cob Jig Antique Bone and the Damascus Vintage Bone. The Damascus has the thickest bone of any Sodbuster Jr. I have.
