Man, you guys don’t let up do ya? 🤣 Very nice Jack. 😎👍
Thanks Todd :D
Great pair Jack !
Thans buddy :)
At work early today, lots of “end of the quarter” grading to do. You’d think by now I’d be smart enough to know better than to make an assignment at the end of the quarter. 😄View attachment 2361782
Doh! 😖 Great pic Todd
Hope all are well and heading into a restful weekend.View attachment 2361816

That's a BIG improvement! :D ;)
Hahzabaht another big ol' sheepsfoot work knife. I couldn't pass up a cool workhorse like this and made in Australia, too! I'm not sure I've seen anything from there except Mitch's awesome new sheepsfoot.

This thing is a tank. 4.25" closed, 3" blade. 440 stainless. There's a new bald spot on my arm so it definitely took a nice edge! The wood covers were probably really nice looking when new, but they have become pretty dark. I quickly hit them with 400 and put a bit of thinned spar varnish on it just to seal them up.

Should be a fun one to throw into the pile of work knives.

Wow, that's really something special Rick  Do you know the history? Have to look in my big book of Australian knives :) Many years back, after meako meako sent me on a six-month long knife quest, I thought about challenging him to find an Australian-made knife, but figured it'd be too hard
Winning pair Jer
Good afternoon all,

Dog walk this morning looking for Penny Buns again, no luck but a few indistinct Fly Agaric, did not find any spectacular clusters as I usually do. A little bit old and tired. Like me. This Richards knife has a streetlight logo.
I really love the rivet method on the pins, solid.

Nice Richards Barney, the fake stag isn't bad is it? :)

You Tim :) Nice choice there

😍
At least to us "old things" that know how to drive a manual shift, and how to rotate the window cranks.🙄
Definately agree on the vent windows. I think they were eliminated due to cost, so they making a comeback are slym to nada. 🥺☹️

P.S.
A vehicle without air conditioning would be nice, too.
A lot of excess weight, hence steals power and lowers mileage if on or off. I never used the mechanical AC in my vehicles that had it. I much prefer the 2-60 and 4-60 "air conditioning". 😇👍
(for you younglings who don't know, "2-60" and "4-60" air conditioning is 2 or 4 windows down, and 60 miles per hour.) 😁👍
You know, a manual trannie is a very effective anti-theft system…AF2D7E0C-256E-4FF2-B204-29421A1019EE.jpeg
I miss the plastic frost covers for windows, not.would take a slant 6 though.
Yes, I love the old Mopar 225 Slant Six. I had one in an old Power Wagon. A low geared monster. Also had a ‘65 Mercury Comet with the 200 ci straight six, then there was the 4 liter six in two different Jeeps. And also, a 300 six in an F150.
Love straight sixes.
That Comet was a great car ~ roll up windows, the little crotch cooler vent windows, floor headlight dimmer switch, and AM radio. The only thing I’d have preferred was a manual trans Three On The Tree instead of the two speed automatic. But I’ll admit that I daydreamed about the Comet with the HiPo 289, posi rear, and four on the floor.
Really like the look of your photos Jeff.
😎👍
Well, I appreciate that, Todd. We have some folks here who set a high bar for photos!

Use everything !!!!!! Well carry everything. I use a knife like 5 times a week 😆 🤣 😂.
OK, Paul. Those are rookie numbers. Gotta up those numbers! 😁
Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund The Ebony Maher & Grosh knife is a three spring knife like all of the GEC’s on the 29 pattern. Here is the M&G that I am waiting on.

I learned something new about GEC lore.
Thanks for the reply.

There’s always one teacher that does that🤨
You probably send them off on vacation with a big pile of homework too, right?😬
Cool blade shape that to my eye, pays homage to the Higo Nokami.

Gotta love imaginative tang stamps. I’ll add that one to the Taylors Eye Witness, Hammer Brand, and others with great stamps.
What was the one with the gun firing?

Great stag, by the way!

Edit: I see Jack Black Jack Black says it’s fake stag!
Fooled me.

Going to head to town in a bit. Cindy has an appointment at the beauty salon for a haircut. We'll follow that up with chow at the Wagon Wheel Cafe and then a stop at the grocery store on the way home. I'll be carrying the CV Capped Jack again today.

Makes me think of Grandma Duncan and her weekly appointment with the Beauty Operator.
I cut my own hair, but Vik will not let me touch hers. Even though I could buy a new knife with the money saved.

Right now, she’s off to her nail appointment. Again, she won’t do it herself with the little SAK I gave her!

Do you know the history?
Thanks Jack, it's pretty neat. It seems like "Toledo" in Aus is about the same kind of company as Klein in the USA. Tools and such. It is called their technician knife.. that's about all I could find in my brief internet search. It looks like they may even still offer them.

Judging by my knife, they have been making them for some time. Wether they actually produce them or bring them in... I don't know. It's a well made knife. Nothing extravagant. The liners are flat, blade centered, strong lock and action. It's a little rough opening but nothing to write home about.

SW 163 again. Love this thing, and use it for everything. Along with another great user, GEC 53E323.6574B2D6-6F64-4377-BF1E-E38FD7C0E721.jpeg96D0FF1F-1960-4BDF-B0FE-A1398743AE48.jpeg44D39114-249F-438A-A984-2BD11C492991.jpeg

These are some of my Fencerow Cherry tomaters.DB9AB284-D11E-44D6-89BF-6FD181BDFAF4.jpeg
All of these came from the spoiled ones I tossed on the edge of the beds. They took over my herb bed this year. This variety was supposedly found growing wild along s farm field fence near Paris Illinois years ago.

My tomato seed supplier has discontinued it, but I’ll never need to buy seeds again. They don’t cross with my other maters, and come back true every year. Big, sprawling vines that just keep cranking them out until hard frost.

If any of you gardeners would like to grow this delicious tomato, and help keep an old heirloom alive, send me a pm with your address, and I’ll mail you some seeds.
