The stag is very nice, but there’s something special about that red bone…

That ‘19 Blade Forums knife is perfect for working on the shoe phone.

Great old Marbles! At first glance, I wondered how that little sheath was going to fit that fixed blade. 😉
My wife's friend got her started on them. I'd look at them once in a while, and find a couple pieces. Next thing I knew, I was sitting there helping her put them together. She only gets 1000 piece puzzles, and as long as they're some kind of Americana themed thing, I like to work on them. It takes us a couple days to get one done, because we only work on them for maybe an hour max in the evening.
Every time our three granddaughters come to visit for a few days, Vik takes them out and they pick out a 1000 piece puzzle. I set up the folding table in the living room, and they go to work. One of them is an early riser, and I’ll find her working on it when I stumble down to make coffee.
I am not a puzzle enthusiast, but darned if I don’t get sucked in and find myself wrapped up in it.
And after they’ve gone, it’s kind of sad to have to sweep the finished puzzle back into it’s box, and fold up the table.
One stainless one carbon, 9cm locking Laguiole and CASE Penknife. The Delrin on this has got very matte & taken on a 'tattoo' any tips for restoring Delrin a bit?

View attachment 2384579
Will, that satiny feel that old delrin acquires is one of my favorite things about it. But It can be polished and dyed just like bone.

I keep these for guitar work, but they’d put a shine on your penknife for sure ~ Micro Mesh polishing pads.47D26D01-ED48-4822-AE2F-74F02973A3D2.jpeg
Great pair ‘O Cases, Rick!
Dig the big one. What’s the closed length?

And here's my Chinese Sabre lockback with a Japanese Sabre big Barlow.

The handle material on the Chinese is a mystery, and I think the bolsters are faux.
Is that sawcut bone on your Sabre big Barlow? It looks much nicer than the "sawcut plastic" on my Sabre Japan Daddy Barlow:

FWIW, here's a photo of my Sabre Ireland slim trapper:

Nice stag on that RR Gary and the SAK is “Yooper” duper! 😄👍
Thanks, Todd; just couldn't pass up that souvenir SAK. :)

Keeping things simple for Monday.

Simple, but superlative! Secondary is shaped superbly!:thumbsup::cool:

Those Land Shark Old Timers eat meat for breakfast!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

“On the other hand, when my wife was getting prepped for her recent right knee replacement,”

How’s the knee?
Yes, I usually think that no matter what I’m totin.
My wife's knee is doing quite well, Jeff; thanks for asking. :) She flew to MN to visit our daughter last Friday and returned Tuesday. When she arrived at the Twin Cities airport on Friday, she had a wheelchair assistant because she was worried about the size of the terminal, but when she came home on Tuesday, she decided she could walk the terminal on her own. Yesterday was the first time she tried driving since September 24, and it seemed to go OK.

I think having a high opinion of all your knives is a blessing!🤓

When I opened my drawer of cigar boxes this morning, I heard the raspy voice of @Jack Black whispering in my ear “Pick that Lambsfoot, Mate”.So Taylor’s Eye Witness it is.

You don't recall my voice chanting angelically, "Walnut Witness for the win!"??

Your Bucs did much better than my Hawks.:thumbsdown:
Since the Seahawks and the Ravens were both flocks of birds that had beaten my rejuvenated Lions, I was surprised that the Seattle-Baltimore showdown wasn't a closer game.

Busy as Billy-O these past few days! Found time to slip my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket :)

Good to see the stag HHB, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:
Who was Billy-O and what kept him so busy??

Very handsome cinnamon stag bone on that RR!!:cool::cool:

I have my Benini lambsfoot in pocket as I type this.

This knife has been sneaking into my pocket a lot. It is the perfect size for a pocket carry.
Everybody needs a 50T in their life.👍🏻
I can't argue with you gents! I've had a Chinese 5OT since March, and it's an excellent lockback!:thumbsup::cool:

A really good pocket knife. 🤠
Thanks, John. :)
That Sodbuster Jr opened my eyes to the usefulness of a single-blade folder. I had no interest in one-bladed knives until I won that SBJr in a GAW here.

Well, I got 2 new ones in the mail yesterday. I am very pleased with them both. The Old Timer actually surprised me- it appears that I got a good one! Now, they just need to get some use and wear marks! This is actually my first Sodbuster Jr.
I have a GEC #71 bullnose, but this one seems to fit the watch pocket perfectly!

Praiseworthy pair of knives! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

That Voos is sensational, Steve!:cool::thumbsup:

Sorry I dont know,I just call him Bob... 😁
Black Duck Bob it is! 🤓

Yes, that's exactly what I said, except different :p

1980-2 dots =1978 :D

You say potahto and I say potayto...:)
You say "1980 – dots showing" and I say "1970 + dots missing". But "dots missing" = 10 – "dots showing".
So you basically do (1970 + 10) – dots showing
and I basically do 1970 + (10 – dots showing).
"Associative Property of Addition" for the win! 😁

5K Qs 5K Qs I have an example stamped USA but only recently found out it represents United States Army and not United States of America.
Interesting time period for knives in America. I think they were just churning those suckers out as fast as possible.
Thanks for the interesting info, Paul.:)

This is a fine looker, Mr John! Such a warm, sweet color. Sorry to mix sensory adjectives, but that’s what popped into my head.
I like the aged look, without having any idea how old it actually is.

Schrade 233 Jackknife, and my biggest SAK ~ Wenger Ranger 155(if memory is right).
DB8BE143-526B-44D2-A129-1F46A6C7B306.jpegMy friend in the church band asked me to get his Epiphone Special set up right. I’m thinking I’ll have to get out my set of nut files, and get the string grooves properly cut and polished.
I love working on guitars, but working on someone else’s not as much. Always afraid of goofing something up. Even if it’s not a particulary valuable vintage instrument, it still belongs to someone else.FD787F8A-C863-4EC3-A2EB-2C8D9CE27A88.jpeg
But first, Mrs. Fleschwund wants the railings and trim on the staircase primed and painted.

Also have a STORM emergency whistle (in case I need to use the emergency call button and (a) the battery is dead; or (b) I'm out of range.) and a digital chronometer pocket watch/stop watch hung from neck, outside of shirt.

If you like the size and feel of the 50t, don't overlook the Uncle Henry "Smokey". Nearly identical dimensions w/ a clip point, wood covers, and brass bolsters. My mind always assumed they were much larger than they actually are because they so closely resemble the big schrades, Buck 110s, etc. You can pick up an older US made one relatively cheap, and they're built like a tank! 👍🏻

Going heavy today. Gonna go down the back behind our dumpster and clear some lower limbs from the fir tree behind it. No room for a chainsaw on the dumpster side of the tree so I'll use a Buck saw for that side. Anyway, I'll be able to cut the small stuff with this Buck 110. What with the very cold temperatures here at night lately, you'd think the snakes would be hold up in their dens by now but OH NO - I saw one yesterday under our cargo trailer. The visit to the dentist went well yesterday and had soft corned beef hash and eggs up for dinner last night and this morning, Cindy will be serving up scrambled eggs and maybe some mashed sausage patties keeping with the soft routine for another day or so.
