Is carrying those fixed blades around the house part of your "homework" for physical therapy?
Is the shoulder problem rotator cuff-related? I know so many people that have had rotator cuff surgery followed by apparently challenging rehab. A couple of years ago, I looked at rehab exercises and decided that I'd start doing my own version of them as rotator cuff "prehab" when I work out at the fitness center. So far, it's working.![]()
Thanks! I got it cheap because it was the previous year's. I'm sure it would cut if I asked it to.Very nice seasonal knife!![]()
My wife just saw an ortho doc recently, thinking she needed surgery. He said no, you need to exercise. Sure enough the pain is lessening with time.
My doctor said I appeared to have some irritation of the rotator cuff. No surgery, though, mercifully. (As a pessimist and a coward, I am convinced that joint surgery always makes things worse.)
Your prehab is a good idea. I think a lot of my problems are due to having let a lot of muscles go for a lot longer than I realized. Oh, gee, suddenly I can't kneel in a canoe. Oh, gee, suddenly I can't crouch to pick something up. Oh, gee, suddenly if I bend to pick something up, I fall on my head, and gee, somersaults didn't used to hurt like this.
I just got my progress noted. I've exceeded my therapist's range-of-motion goals, so we can work more on strength. I'm glad your wife's progress is on track too.My wife just saw an ortho doc recently, thinking she needed surgery. He said no, you need to exercise. Sure enough the pain is lessening with time.
I hope you find relief Jer.
