Have a nice day :)
Love the coloring on that knife AND your companion! That's a good lookin' pup. 😍
That grain is stunning, sir! 👌🏻
That dark patina looks fantastic!! Have you dyed the bone, or did it age that way? Good looking knife, my friend! 👍🏻

Thank you.
No I didn't dye the bone on this one and I don't think it has really aged much either since I carry it in my pocket organizer which is cordura nylon, I just got lucky with this particular amber jigged bone.

Voos, Victorinox, and Klein on maple for my smoker.D4B0BDD5-D9EE-4475-A931-EFD7D742DE45.jpegB24C7D7C-5C17-45B1-941C-C846116FECCD.jpegI’ve been doing a lot of chainsaw work lately. Brought down some black walnut trees that were blocking the afternoon sun from the gardens. And there are a couple of big black cherries that are dead in my little patch of woods. I’ve also been cutting out the invasives/non-natives like buckthorn and gray dogwood.
The hard part is hauling the small stuff off to brush piles, and hauling, splitting, and stacking the big stuff for the fireplace. No gym membership needed.
I mostly use ash, maple, cherry, and apple in the smoker.
Thinking of picking up some ribs and chicken breasts to smoke today.

Case Knife of the Week is a Slimline Trapper (thanks, Tom). I don't usually like full-size clip/spey trappers, clip point blades are way down on my list of blade preferences, and I typically prefer multi-bladed knives to single blade models. So I'd say that's "3 strikes and your out" for the slimline trapper – except I like this pattern a lot! Go figure. o_O 🤓

Colonial/Imperial/Schrade Knife of the Week is an Imperial equal-end spear/pen jack from 1936-1952 era:

I haven't tried any maple or ash in the smoker yet. I've pretty much settled on the apple. I like the sweeter flavor it adds to the pork and chicken. I've used all the old, non-producing apple trees from our property, but with all the orchards around, there's no shortage of it.
